I can't imagine pulling that many fish over the rail at one time, just amazing and very exciting to watch! A body has to be in great physical condition to do that kind of fishing, all the bending over, hard on the back, then down on your knees to bleed 'em, also just on your feet for such long periods of time! I have immense amounts of respect for the jobs you do, it's tough but you fishermen are tougher!

Amazed at how well you two get along. I fished my whole life with my Dad and at times he could be very volatile. Enjoy your repairs and am guessing your Dad at one time worked in a boatyard with his overall knowledge. Keep up the good work Matt you and your Dad are a pleasure to watch. Matt you both are very good at what you do.

Glad to see the father and son team working together. I'm from Gloucester Mass, Americas oldest seaport where lots of families worked the ocean together. Sadly that doesn't happen too much out here like it used to, but still a viable seaport. Glad you can make a good living still working the ocean responsibly

Man that is hard work i'm getting a sore back just looking at you guys hauling in the fish. I love of all your videos and I like the simplicity of the jig's you use the wheel the motor and all the gear that you use. As a matter of interest how is rock cod eaten, you guys fry it or steam it. I would imagine that it's one of those types of fishes that is consumed on a regular basis. Cheers from Brisbane Australia.

That looks like some HOT fishing there again. I miss Alaskan Black Rockfish. I used to buy it all the time at Safeway when I lived in Oregon. Now that I live in the UK, I doubt I could afford the shipping even if you did ship it here.

Our fishing videos are generally up to date, so not much of a time gap to worry about. The project videos do lag behind a bit. We've added some relevant date stamps to the backlog series.

In Denmark we're only allowed to catch one cod per day, but our ocean are empty. It's almost impossible to catch anything and if you had the luck to catch one, it's filled with worms from the seals. Dang I wish that I could visit Alaska just once.

I have a hard time telling one rock fish from another and the rules in SE Alaska are strict for sport fishing. Some video on the different types and how to use a deep release would be interesting. Bob

Dad:8 Matt:13 Lol...average per line haha 😄 At 38 mins in...said skip the wet pants, because of warmth is my guess. @45:46 I counted 9 on the line...what was the lone fish? That was awesome! Thanks for having me along. Would like to order, I'm on central Vancouver Island, can you ship? Or do I gotta come for a fishing trip?? Lol 🍻❤️
@kerrypitt9789 Жыл бұрын
One of the videos it gives you when I think I'm all done! I bet finding any little thing to help you smooth things over a bit is helpful, will be better. I have never seen such stringers of fish before. I noticed back at the process plant you guys separate between dark and light Duskys and black Rockfish. Do quotas work on there using the different colours or is this just general information? To keep track of your catch for DFO or is it meant for other reasons? You got some very decent fish! Well done!!
@EISAlaska Жыл бұрын
Dark rockfish are bound by a 20% bycatch rate and dusky we can keep 100%. We seperate and weigh each species as they need to be reported accuratly on our fish tickets. We seperate from the beginning to make the offload easier, and also our main fishhold comes in right at 5K, which is our trip limit for black rockfish, so it makes estmating our total easy.

Extracting fish from the preservation box, why not make a container the size of the box and lift it directly with a crane and take it out of the boat and when it is finished it is returned directly, almost similar to dropping snow, but on the contrary
