Eivør is fantastic - gorgeous, charismatic, funny; one of those artists who are at their best live. I've been to her concerts twice, amazing experiences. She has done some live streams from her home during the pandemic, they can be found on her channel. She and Floor are my favourite female vocalists. I'm glad you found her! I think you might be interested to hear Trøllabundin next.

Yay, I’m so glad you reacted to her! I agree that Trollabundin live is the way to go if you want to hear more - there are several versions but this one is special due to the beautiful outdoor venue on a Norwegian fjord, which really suits the music: kzbin.info/www/bejne/raTPXn5-fMpngc0 Her performance of Salt at the train warehouse is also worth a listen.

Damn dude, that was amazing, so thanks that’s another back catalogue of albums to listen too. She was involved in the soundtrack to The Last Kingdom, an epic historical BBC series with vikings (they get everywhere don’t they 🤣) As always dude top reaction ❤️🇬🇧

She's a bit special isn't she? Try some of her other stuff she's all over the place. Rock, folk, electronic, the lot. Welcome to her world!

Sadly, Eivør gets way too little love. Some pick up this where she goes full Rock-symphonic. Some pick up on "Trollabundin" where she shows off her throat-singing capabilities in a "stripped/unplugged" concert visiting us in the venue of yet another pretty Norwegian fiord. Few bother with how she does modernistic scandi jazz/fusion. Or folk/trad singing (that her degree is on). Everyone should instantly become a member of her youtube channel as she now and then stream a little live concert that makes the world a better place. She is "interesting" if one is one of the few who bothers to actually listen to music in this day and age.

YES!!! Finally you got to experience Eivors beautiful musical magic:) She is definetly one of my favorite artists. And yes now when you are stuck to her you must listen to Trollabundin live. Maybe her first hit? It`s a little bit older. And her cover of Leonard Cohens "Famous Blue Raincoat" from this concert is absolutley fantastic. Great reation as always btw:)

Great reaction video! Thank you very much for it! :) I love Eivør, I've seen her live in fall 2019, amazing experience. It was a one woman show, she concerted without her band, but made us feel like the stage was full of people (with the help of some backing tracks and looping). One of the last concerts I've been to before covid hit. :( I also recommend Trollabundin live, the one with the beautiful nature surroundings! Also, I enjoyed her recent Gullspunnin - live on KVF video. Interesting fact: She performed May It Be by Enya (from LOTR) at a gala for Danish queen. It's on youtube. :)

Thank you for such a lovely and interesting reaction. Eivor is definitely one of best singers that I heard ever, and most closed to my heart. Her voice can make you flutter like a leaf in the wind. In addition, the range of genres in which she sings and composes music is strikingly wide - from songs like shamanic to a music for a theatrical performances. By the way she was awarded as best singer and best performer of the year in Iceland when she was only twenty, even despite she is not native icelandic, and also received many other awards during years. Please check sometime the video "#ISLANDROADS presents EIVØR", her singing there was simply heavenly.

Tomas, talking about heavenly, this song reminded me of a song by Anneke van Giersbergen (Dutch), the woman who's responsable for Floor getting into "Metal" (and still one of Floor's BFF"s). The song is called *_"Waking Hour"_* (live at Doornroosje (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) TG25): kzbin.info/www/bejne/poauc4lugsSLjqc

@@nightwishfannl5762 That was great! Thanks for sharing. I particularly enjoyed the high level of production. I'm excited for the final! Especially since there'll be a crowd. You must happy that Netherlands are hosting. 😁

@@ThomFoolery1 Awww i was hoping for a reaction vid 😭 but i wasn't clear about that haha. Yes, the production was 👌 and so special,typically for the Netherlands-the water. Eivør is a Nordic spirit who walks among us. She has no equal. When she chants, that's her Nordic goddess rising up out of her human persona. No other explanation suffices.

Just making a repeat recommendation for you to check out Elvellon, an amazing German symphonic metal band :) Theyre a relatively new band - theyve only just signed to Napalm records- and well worth checking out. A good song to start with is a live performance of 'Until Dawn', which is a brilliant song, very Nightwish-esque, and shows off the entire band :)

Her voice totally reminded me a lot of Kate Bush at times. Sometimes I hear a bit of Bjork, but given the location she is from it could be a regional thing popping through.

III, JUST commented another reactors vid (on another artists reaction, it's Avi Kaplan you might like his songwriting/production & *deep* voice as well) about this stupid fear today of "comparison" but I now realize it must be an american thing? 🤔 they merge the meaning with "ranking" for some reason.. Comparison is good, it's a tool, a skill, to get to know things and ways AND ourselfes better, what we like or *don't* like and *why* k tx bye, love Eivor, maybe react to her live Trollabundin 😁✌️🤟
@ThomFoolery13 жыл бұрын
I actually agree with you, mostly. I'm always making comparisons in my head and mention it a lot in my videos. However, some people seem to get very touchy and have roasted me before for making some comparisons so I try to dial it back. I don't think it's so much a nationality thing, many of these comments have come from fellow Europeans and beyond. I personally think some people are just a bit overzealous when it comes to supporting their favourite artist and get triggered when someone compares them to another.
