I am from the Faroe Islands. Eivør is our Jewel, we all (55.000 inhabitants), love her. Her music is changing lives, all over the world. And we are very proctective of her. (of course she don't need that, but we are). The joy of our lives, in the Faroes, is when people start to love her, as we all do. Thank you, for your love for her! :D

This is ambient-folk. I love Eivør.... ❤

Nice reaction. Eivør's music videos tend to be teasers for her live performances in terms of her voice. If you want insane vocals again I would recommend True Love Sofar live in LA.

I love that so much. She is really playful with her vocals in that and when Eivor gets playful the vocals get insane.

You did pronounce Eivør correctly. :) Her new song "UPP ÚR ØSKUNI / RISE FROM THE ASHES" just released. It's amazing! It's all about female empowerment. :)

Love this song and the video is sweet...saw her supporting Heilung last year and she was amazing live, going to see her play her own show in October and can't wait!
the video was directed by einar egils and eydís evensen, she is also a phenomenal composer. excellent work of all people involved. when i read who was directing this, i already knew what kind of aesthetics to expect.

First I thought it was a bit lame. But the beautiful lyrics set the tone of the song I guess and there’s no need for belting. After three more listening sessions I love this song. It’s so freaking beautiful and I can’t wait to hear this live in October. Have a great day! ❤

Just heard Eivør's new song" Hugsi Bert um Teg" on YT. You mentioned here, in your reaction, that you lose hearing Eivør's voice. The new song is more 80 Pop but the voice is back. Try listening to the song. (reaction will be great, but for yourself is fine.)

Thank you very much Ashlena for making this reaction. For me, Eivør, next to Aurora, is one of the best musicians the Nordics have. She lives in Copenhagen and is also coming out with a new album this year. Fortunately, I understand the text and allow myself to attach it. It's a slightly different style of music that she normally has, but she also said that she experiments a little. If you have time, listen to "Tokuni" also available on YT with English lyrics. Dust to Dust Still it gushes forth in crimson waves fat river of fates bloodies sharpened blades From its dark depths corpses rise all the ocean's delights drift before your sight Lift up your clouded eyes and look at me your unmasked home Listen to my lament come lie down in my blue embrace Reeking of your cruel rage flaking weapon-rust crusts our fierce death-lust Raging pyres must blaze out life's primal song can you sing along?

I do believe she will release a whole new album, and there i would expect some songs with more dramatic vocals! I love this song though, I have it on repeat as much as i have "too Sweet" (hozier) on right now.

Good vocals but was expecting vocals to get more powerful and it didn't. Really did like the video.

@@ashlenamusic you can expect excellent vocals on "enn". she recently signed at seasons of mist, so the new album will be significantly different from her previous work and much more experimental.

It seems like the " viking" touch - norøn mystic is "in" at the time. I think this can relate to Edda ( ancient mother/ grandmother) poems- an old ancient manuscript. Maybe it is Frøya ? .. or a volve or the Nornene. And I realy hope it NEVER become a rap ! And It seems like you ower there ( euroamerican culture) never apreciate anuthing that is not loud and ..singing high and looooonbg notes. Its like the culture you live in is note mature..... Maybe you could read a bit about the mythology that sorounds Eivør and other north atantic musicans. ... ? Gets a wider perspective and a better context understanding than only american films and so on... ? ( Frøya/ Freya was the mightiest of gods long before Odin and his crew camealong from the Black sea aeria - she was the follower of Nerthus who also was a main god in germanic tribes - and she was female aspect - The word God comes from norønt language and mean god in plural and no gendered..) I think of Frøya/ Freyas neclage : Brisinge .. when I se the video her.
