Greatest vocalist I have ever seen. Also a brilliant songwriter. Nobody can touch her. I absolutely love this woman.

Wow nice! Love me some real folk esp. Scandinavian music. My daughter lives in Kopenhagen and she visited the Faroe islands a few months back and was really impressed.

Well done with the pronunciation, lol She's from the Faroe islands and lives in Denmark, which the Faroe islands belong to, until Trump tries to buy it as well, lol. This was done in aurlandfjord area of Norway. This invokes so many feelings, some of which you mentioned. Ancient/Primal, our ancestors. Found in interesting how similar in parts it is to the Native N. American songs. Thousands of years and thousands of miles apart but certain similarities. I got what Sifa said about hearing it flowing over the mountain tops. A wizard thrown in too, what more do you need, lol No band, no auto tune, just pure beauty. I never thought just mainly a voice in Great gig in the sky could be surpassed, but this does for me. I heard it many times before i translated the words but it doesn't matter, this sort of transcends words. I wondered how you two might react and was pleased at your reaction. Thanks guys 🙂

Nice one Paul. I've been in need of a good dose of Trodlabundin. Its kind of hard to find here in the US. Maybe if we annex the Faroe Islands it would become more generally available. Kidding! But seriously, this was great. Would've loved to hear it live in that glorious natural setting. That music is the perfect complement to that scenery.

This was truly magical; yes and very similar Native American music, wow! Yeah we always ask how everyone across the ancient earth got the memo about using bows and arrows for war and hunting. With ancient music, it’s that beautiful connective drumbeat. Thanks so much Paul!

@@SightAfterDark she used to use this shamanic hand drum with reindeer skin from norway. on her recent tour she bought one in austria which is made from goat skin. this skin is better when it comes to humidity and temperature changes, while the reindeer skin has to be treatetd carefully to get in tune. she named her new drum kellir after her fathers fishing vessel, which translates to rock in the surf. that's what her father was to her. she is a humble and down to earth human being

she is a classically trained sopran and holds a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques. at the age of 41 she has gained more than 25 years of experience as a professional musician. the word tròdlabùndin does not not exsist this way, neither in faroese nor in icelandic. it is a spelling mistake by NRK. trøllabundin is the correct way to spell it trøllabundin eri eg eri eg galdramaður festi meg festi meg trøllabundin djúpt í míni sál í míni sál Í hjartanum logar brennandi bál brennandi bál trøllabundin eri eg eri eg galdramaður festi meg festi meg trøllabundin inn í hjartarót í hjartarót eyga mítt festist har ið galdramađur stóð she uses a throat singing technique as well as a technique called kulning. kulning is a herding call that is used to call the cettle back to the farm, it travels over long distances. björk is from iceland, not the faroe islands. eivor studied in iceland, though. this concert took place at stigen farm in norway, which is a whole different country, different language
