Interesting to see the fitment quality. I'm sure you'll be onto it. Looking forward to seeing progress

As Yoda might say ; ' The guards, something to behold, they are.' Let's hope they fit and that they have not emanated from the 'Dark Side of the Force.'

Good to see the EJ project is moving again , the sad thing is you had to surcome to Rarespares price gouging but unfortunately that is the current state of play. I watch another channel called Backshed and Mick the content provider seems to have a passion for finding some amazing car collections regularly around NSW some good, others being left to rot annoyingly, all that original iron going to waste. Anyway enough whinging, you have a great honest channel and excellent content and look forward to the progress Cheers Trev

i've fitted these guards there good but not perfect fit have fun graham they need a few tweeks in the mounting holes to get them right check the front where the top bolts go theres a tab at the end that stops the guard going back enough to get a good gap on the door we had to cut it and re weld it to allow it to go back further
@xacoupeguy7 ай бұрын
Im not expecting miracles from them, I just don't want old bogged up twisted and badly repaired guards which seem to be all that is gettable these days in the second hand market

Excellent Graham, now, hope they fit well without much drama! It would be tragic after shelling out big bickies if they are 1/2 inch out in length and height!🇦🇺👍

Let's stay positive aye! They arnt as nice as genuine guards but they are miles better than the trash guards that are floating around the market these days

FYI Graham , It appears the supply of these New Fenders was only delayed . I heard that Muscle Car parts in Sydney are just unloading a new shipment from a container today , think Rares have an eta of the 30th as well :)

Thank God!! My problem is over the years rares has stopped selling alot parts they used too, and I didn't want to be stuck again
@bossdog14807 ай бұрын
Graham, I remember when these were brand new. I seriously doubt you are that old as well. 🤔🤔 Nice to see that there are parts still available. I was thinking while I watched this that it would be great to own a infinitely variable press so that one could remake any piece one wanted. 😂😂Not going to happen sadly.

We all get the jitters in front of the camera mate but if you're sharing knowledge, people listen. Love that you're putting out some more content and so happy you still have the EJ. Just wondering though, could we get maybe one long vid for every five shorts or something like that? A lot of us learn from watching .

Hi Graham , I like the short video's as well but did also enjoy the longer EJ related ones . Question , with quality and fitment in mind would the new repo ones be easier ? My EH guards don't look like they have much rust but cant help thinking the blasting & labour costs to prep them may get close to buying new ones ?
@xacoupeguy7 ай бұрын
Well for me who has to run a bussiness everyday anything that speeds up time I'm interested in. But for the ej guards I feel restoring old guards would cost more than new ones
@timbrown85817 ай бұрын
I agree Graham, just about to order a pair myself. Nearly had a heart attack at the price! But I need them for my EJ. What is the fitment like mate!

My first time seeing a video on your channel & am not, & never was, particularly a Holden bloke, but I am old enough to remember as a six year old, the next door neighbour driving home in a brand new FJ in mid/late 1956. [I'm a 1932 & '33 Dodge man] So EJ's were from my early teen years & the way I remember it, they were never as popular, or as desirable as the following EH model with its new 149 & 179 engine, along with it's much more stylish rear end design. Which pose's a question for me. What propelled your decision to rebuild an EJ over the more popular EH?
@xacoupeguy7 ай бұрын
As a young lad I loved EHs but when I started to potentially get my first car I was shown an ej holden as a stripped out bodyshell and thusly started an interest. And when I got my first ever car it was a different ej holden that I got as a wreck for 300buks. And the love for ejs was born. But that being said I have owned 2 EH holdens and an FE

Hey like your videos, Reading between the lines here it looks like Rare Spares are going to follow the car manufacturers of Australia, which brings me to my opinion of over regulation in Australia (as usual) of the cars, the flow on effect of not being able to modify and the strict regulations around motor vehicles has lead to the demise of our car industry, have a look at the USA, thriving car industry, parts stores on near every corner, you can nearly rebuild a car as you’ve driving down the highway, everyone wins, politicians here are to busy stabing each other in the back to have vision for the future.

@@xacoupeguy Oofft !! That's pricey. I guess you have no choice if they're marked for extinction. It's a good investment nevertheless. The car will look sharp with clean guards combined with the clean doors.

let's be honest the price of the new guards would cover labour on fixing rusty dented ones, 100odd a hr adds up when fixing rubbish
@xacoupeguy7 ай бұрын
If you had to pay someone to fix rusty guards it would easily be more than new guards

@xacoupeguy when I fixed my xe brought 95% perfect panels with needed 1 or 2 tiny dents fixed was alot cheaper to pay the extra for decent parts
