As part of what you were explaining, perhaps you could do a mini lesson about the circumstances under which you know only a truss rod adjustment will fix an intonation problem, and how you go about that.

Do you think Albert was trying to bend to the note, but sometimes with the heavier strings didn’t quite get there? It became a thing ,not to quite get to the 3rd from the flat 3rd. Jimi I had a great quote, I hear people copying my mistakes. The only person I heard talking about semi-tone bends was Micheal Bloomfield back in the day. If they meant to play less then a quarter tone, I bow to the masters ears. Never hear anyone saying they went over the tone going sharp? Our ear is use to hearing bends not make the pitch, aka as cool.

I got some tears because those bends. Guitar is really one of unique instrument which could make crying. Vibrato and bending (stretching is gymnastics ha ha) most important thing by guitar.

These lessons are great. Could you please talk a little about how you practiced your fast runs/lines when first started out? Did you use a metronome? if yes, how slow (bpm) did you start and for how long(hours/days/weeks etc) would you work on something until you thought it was ready to be recorded?

@kipponi4 жыл бұрын
Of course it is.
@aradieschen48804 жыл бұрын
@@kipponi would you elaborate then? :D I only ever heard to bend towards the middle of the fretboard.
@wannaberabbi93024 жыл бұрын
A Radieschen I don’t think there’s a specific rule. I just bend where it’s comfortable, and it works for me at least. Sometimes I’ll bend towards the center and sometimes outside. If you want a more defined system, what works for me is to bend away from the center on the G strings when doing small half step blues bends but if you’re going for a full bend or more you’re gonna have to push towards the center regardless of the string you’re on.
@kipponi4 жыл бұрын
@@aradieschen4880 It depends what string and how large bend is(interval). Do what is easiest way. Experiment with different ways. Train bending with all fingers and add vibrato too. It strengthen your hand amazingly.

Hey EJ.. GM, i'm having a cup of coffee with you at the moment. now. I'm using the diminished scale (half whole - 8 note scale) as a GRID and then watering it down by shifting into or using a couple notes from the parallel 7 note scales. engineeringwise it's backassward. but its easier or different to memorize a grid and subtract tension. and it helps me make the GRID become more melodic. - just throwing some fun stuff out there.

Never had a problem tuning a Ies Paul.Wind the strings properly on the machine head,lubricate the nut and stretch the strings done!And Ive been playing Les Paul guitars for 40 years and never had a problem.So i dont know where the”tuning problem issue”comes from.
