The tribute to the service workers in Texas at the end of the video (the true ‘rock stars’) was pure class. If only some of those Texas politicians had as much class as Eric.

You are a treasure, EJ. Thank you for these lessons- imagine if we’d had a mini lesson series from Jimi or SRV 🤯❤️ These will be long remembered and cherished 🙌

EJ is one of the most humble guitarists around but don't let that fool you -- he is absolute top echelon. Ask your favorite technical shredder who their favorite players/influences are and I guarantee EJ makes the list every time. It would surprise you how many top players cite EJ as a major influence. He is like Holdsworth -- a guitarist's guitarist. Total legend and a very nice dude on top of it all! Cheers!

Hi Eric, your inspirational, unique feel and sound on the guitar never fails to amaze me. You’ve completely mastered all aspects of guitar playing. You inspire me to pickup my guitar everyday. I still shake my head every time I see you play Cliffs Of Dover. I hope you tour again after covid. We would love to see you again in Canada, especially now that you had a taste of our winter weather (lol ), and yes a great thank you to all the hero’s who risk their lives to help others. Thanks for the lesson. Hope to see you on tour soon.

Wow! Personal lessons from a Grammy winning artist. I saw Eric Johnson live once in Phoenix maybe 16 to 17 years ago. Saw him play Cliff over Dover. He inspired me to learn to play guitar. But, I never stuck with it. Wife. kids, and work! Bless you, Eric. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world!

You are the man!!!!!! I grabbed a dictionary and looked up the word "Awesome" and it said "See Eric Johnson for details"....I was going to get a Tattoo of you on my arm, but the doctor said my body couldn't take the amount of pure kick ass just the image of you would produce, said I should start small with a image of your fingernail and work my way up.

I don't know if you'll read this Mr. Johson, but I just wanted to say I knew your college roommate while he lived here in Canada before moving back to Austin. He shared a couple of neat stories about those days with me and turned me onto your music. I just wanted to share that and how my memory of seeing you open for Satriani on May 10, 2006 at the Commodore ballroom in Vancouver is one I will never forget. In part because the day was also marked the 17th anniversary of my father's passing. Isn't it amazing how music weaves a thread through people's lives? Thanks for taking the time to make these mini lessons. Much love from Canada. Cheers!

I know Eric probably won't see this. I have had an extremely hard time improvising. I feel that every time I play I repeat the same patterns over and over again. It is so incredibly frustrating. I constantly try to make new ideas but they end up being the same. It almost makes me want to break down. I put hours into improvising at no avail, but enough about me. I think Eric is one of the most musical guitarists out there. He's got skill and he's got the musical ideas to back it up. Forgot to mention some of the best tone I have heard. Eric's music has kinda helped me through this rough spot. It is some of the most invigorating and upbeat music I have ever heard. Love your music and playing Eric and your tone of course :)
@gavinw54693 жыл бұрын
Huh. Didn't know that editing a comment got rid of a heart. Anyway, I think you should keep doing this series. I like it. It inspires me to pick up the guitar. Your music does the same! Also, your songs bring joy to my otherwise boring and uneventful life so I appreciate that. Hope you are doing well. Hope to see you on tour one day as well!

I love your tone and style, and still remember the first time I heard Cliffs of Dover back in 1990 -- I was in a hurry when the song came on the car radio just as I got to where I was going and couldn't stop listening, fingers crossed the DJ would credit the artist (they did, but I needed to wait out another song, and I did even though I was late). I've been a huge fan ever since and have steadily maintained, if gifted to play like anybody, that person would be Eric Johnson. +1 to @3:30.
