Does this tracker card work like an apple airtag or is it just a bluetooth tracker that can find it when it is in Bluetooth range? If I leave my wallet 5 miles from my house, will it lead me back to find it with the Ekster or does it only work within household wifi range?

It acts the same yes. It can connect via Bluetooth as well. In my test I had to use my home wifi as I do not have cell data. If you have data it will expand the range

can the tracking card actually go in the main part of the wallet if you only have like 3-4 cards you carry?

It can yes! I could get 2 other cards in that back slot along with the tracker card. The push button also works with the card in the slot too.
