Nomad Tracking Card vs Chipolo Card Spot: Like an AirTag for your wallet!

The Chipolo Card Spot and the Nomad Tracking Card are two very useful tracking cards that integrate with the Apple Find My app. It allows you to track your lost item like a wallet without having to install additional apps. There are however some differences between the two, and a key difference from the Apple AirTag.

If I have a wallet like a Ridge wallet, or a wallet where the cards are squeezed together. Wouldn’t the button on the Nomad card always be depressed and forced into a hard reset due to the pressure of the elastic band? Or is the pressure required too great for it to depress it?

I use a small card holder as my wallet. The nomad card sits in the middle slot squished by the cards that are on the outside of the wallet. The button has never been accidentally pressed and the card has never been reset. You have to put a little bit more pressure than usual to reset it. One thing to mention that I recently found out, is that if there is a metal credit card by the nomad card, the find my app says wallet left behind multiple times a day. I had to remove my Apple Card from the center slot to not sit by the nomad card for this reason.

Nomad has a smaller form factor than an airtag, but the airtag will have the precision finding that is missing on the nomad card. Everything else is the same between both. You will have the audible alert, you will have the option to use the find my app, and you will be able to see where it is from the find my app.
