Cooking Cameroon dish call ekwang is one of the most time consuming food to cook but in this video i will show a quick and easy method to cook ekwang or ekpang without grating the cocoyams and save you alot of time. Nigerian call it ekpang nkukwo. one of cameroon delicacy which is so delicious.
In this video i used a juicer instead of a grater to save time gratering cocoyams and the texture was amazing. Below is the link of the juicer.
And yes i added tomatoes again,
It is optional to add tomatoes , but trust me; it really taste better with tomatoes as long as u are going to use turnip green leaves.
If you have cocoleaves, then
You can cook it just like that without tomatoes.

The reason one puts tomatoes is just for that extra nutrient. If not its just cocoyams and leaves. People are just trying to reinvent things which is not a bad thing. It doesn't mean that she doesn't know how to cook ekwang. For those saying its a Calabar dish, why are some Africans so ignorant? The fact that they haven't travelled to different countries, can't they just learn? It's just like people say jellof rice is Nigerian. It's originally from Senegal or Gambia. Other African countries because of migration just tailored it to their environment. People should simply learn to expand their horizon. Different people do things in different ways so we should learn to appreciate others. Take what you want to take and leave the rest, there is no hard and fast rule. The fact that you can talk faster and louder about your own doesn't mean it is the best.

Even in cameroon we don't add tomato, ginger garlic onion. This is my tradition meal. We put only traditional spices and they aren't fat. They are very tiny. Maybe this is her method. I have never seen this before.

How many countries have you travelled to? Different dishes are cooked in different ways in different African countries. Perhaps you need to get a shock that jellof is not originally Nigeria. It came from Gambia and Senegal. Check the way they cook their Jollof also.

This is the worse i have ever seen. As a south west girl am appalled. How can you put ginger, garlic, onion and tomatoes in ekwang ? Is it stew ? What if i put tomate, ginger, garlic, onion in yellow soup/achu ? How will it taste like ? Don't disrespect the traditional meal of other people. Ekwang spices are :Country onion, crayfish, bush pepper,3 corner, pepper.Thats all
