Excellent! THis was a good elementary introduction to the history of the god concept as it evolved in middle eastern culture. The transition from henotheism to monotheism is part of what I've taught for years. Most do not worship God. They worship their god concept never transcending their cultural programming. True worship, i.e. contact with the divine presence within all things requires altered consciousness.

The more I see these theories concerning the Bible God that all are to worship or else. The more I think of the Wizard Of Oz. The "Great and Powerful Oz" so feared. yet in reality was just a projection of an old-man behind a curtain. And in further reality it was just a dream. So how possible is it, that the one called "God" is nothing more than a projection of the culture that created him? Certainly Osiris is a projection of his Egyptian creators. And Zeus a projection of Greek creators. Is "God" the same as these? For over 2,000 years much of the World has been worshiping this God of Israel. Fearing him and praying to him. Bringing a question that I and many others now do ask: Have we been praying to nothing all this time?

Deuteronomy 32 v 8. The original verse says When the Most High (Elyon) began to divide the sons of Adam, he the boundaries of the nations according to the Sons of EL, and Yahweh will inherent Jacob as his portion. As we see, Yahweh was given to Israel by EL. This is why u constantly saw, God of Jacob, God of Israel and God of the Hebrews. Basically the Israelites had their own god like everyone else.. The Masoretes changed it from Sons of EL to Sons of Israel to hide the fact that there were other gods and that Yahweh is just another lesser god.. Along the way, they assimilated the powers of all the other gods into Yahweh, making him The Most High. Now billions of ppl worship a lesser Midianite or Canaanite storm god...

Great Historical video. Yes, many truths are set forth. However, To make the 7 th Century the basis for the worship Of יהוה and אלהים is taking it out of context. For in Bereshit Genesis 1 and on , there were NO other Elohim. There was no sin . There was a pure language. Both YaHuWeH and Elohim were used of 1 Creator. Also added to the time context Adam worship One Creator ,not 2. Enoch also. We also see Noak was Righteous and He worshiped only 1.. So the nations fell into idolatry and used the pure language, then confused for Idolatry.EL,EloaH and Elohim was adapted for Creature worship . Hallel-u-YaH 😀

Where did you get your Scripture from? I found no version saying "according to the sons of El, and Yahweh will inherent Jacob as his portion." This is the problem when people insert different meaning to suit their wants or just change the words. All real found versions say much the same, "8 “When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, When He separated the sons of man, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the sons of Israel." At no point was Yahweh or the sons of El mentioned in that Scripture.

@Linux1972 Bro they changed it from Sons of god to Sons of Israel in the Masoretic text which is wayyyy later than the verse found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. You can find EL and Elohim in the original hebrew. The earliest verse they found of this text originally said Sons of God ( EL) not Sons of Israel. Then in the early Greek version said Angels of God. So both the early hebrew and Greek doesn't show the Sons of Israel mentioned. Plus the Israel wasn't around at the time god separated the sons of men.. In the Ugaritic text EL has 70 Sons, Yahweh being one of them.. Ironically if u count all of the nations the bible listed when it was talking about all of the nations,, it exactly mentions 70 different nations that the world was separated into.. EL (god) separated the world according to the number of his sons ( 70), gave a god to each of the nations , which we can read in the bible.. Then Yahweh was given to the Israelites.. He is the God of Israel, God of Jacob, God of the Jews, God of the Hebrews.. That's why he said have no other GODS but him.. Indicating that he knows the existence of other gods, but the Israelites are to only worship him.. Monotheism eventually set in after the Babylonian and Persian captivities. Much of the old testament was written around the Babylonian, Persian and Greek period and mainly from the Southern Tribe (judah)...

Very interesting and true in a lot of sense.👍. A lot of back streets in Jerusalem have EL - something or something EL. I understand why we have one God. It's was a way to to get back to the one on high. But losing the female bit and other lower gods. ( which I think are now call Angels. ). They lost something. The Mother part. .
