You mention that you arrive Sundays w/out recervacion, so it's OK to arrive with NO recervacion?
@TravelSmallLiveBig2 жыл бұрын
We used to do that several years ago - we haven’t been here since I made this video, so not sure. Best to check the website for current regulations & reservation info (lots changed with Covid)!

Heather and Jim Santa Barbara was an awesome beach, community and Mission back in 60-70s. The last time camping Santa Barbara and coast 80s-90s. We didn't enjoy the ocean due to oil spill back in 1969. Incredible how long the oil lingered. Walking in water and come out with oil on feet/legs. Horrible. $45 no power/dump on off season is high. Beautiful area🏕 safe travels
@TravelSmallLiveBig5 жыл бұрын
This whole stretch of coastline is beautiful! I remember that oil spill too... it was really bad. I think this is pricey too, but it was a great spot for a friend's recent birthday camping weekend ~ we pretty much took up an entire loop!

I have a microphone made by audio-technical and I use Filmora to do my editing. Funny you say that, as I had an obnoxious puppy here, a husband chatting to himself and boats going by! Some days I feel I did the voice-overs the best I could and somedays I just say the heck with it and save the video. This was a heck with it one - ha ha!

I'm a newbie and just completed my family's first camping adventure at Lodge Pole Campground Sequoia National Park. It was amazing. My kids took to camping like fish to water. Any tip on how to improve the chances of getting a memorable campsite at El Capitan SB would be greatly appreciated. God Bless
@TravelSmallLiveBig Жыл бұрын
That’s so cool! Yeah - kids & camping are a perfect mix. Glad they did well! I would say reserve early and if you can go during the week, you might get a nicer site. If you look on the map of sites the ones on the bottoms of the loops towards the ocean are the most popular. Good luck!

Lovely campground Heather! Better stay far from skunks 😊 Definitely more expensive than the usual places you've been. It's California I guess... Have a great week and hope all is going well with pup Sierra!

Within Hiking Distance beachfront California isn’t cheap! It’s definitely more than we usually spend, but it does have its nice parts. Oh my... this dog is quite the handful. Can’t wait until her training classes start in February. It is two steps forward and one step back with her, but she can be cute! 🙄

That is a costly campsite. We get ones like that as well which is why we boondock so much

We enjoy your videos and have used your recommendations on a few locations! This is another great video and thank you. We have an R172 and your site looks spacious! what site number is that? How far is the beach to walk to from there?
@TravelSmallLiveBig3 жыл бұрын
Awesome to hear! I believe we were in site #13 - not up on the bluffs, but in the first loop off to the right as you pull in. More of in an oak stand without the views of the ocean. Beach wasn't far at all - just out of our loop, then across the main road. We like if we don't have to un-hook! I think the way we got into the site was to go clockwise around the loop - I remember going one way and realizing that wasn't going to work. Thank you for the kind words! Curious to where else you have stayed that I have done a video on :) Heather
