Susanne Raynard it is not easy. I used to do it and the heat index on the fire line would be 115 or higher. It is so easy to get dehydrated even drinking water. We had to drink heavy amounts of electrolytes and carry healthy energy food bars just to make it.

Yes, I've seen that. But they don't really want to put out the fires. In fact, they are welcomed so they can get that paycheck. I've seen posts in the comment of those who witnessed flares being dropped from the helicopters. If you think about it, if a fire starts it's usually in one little spots but it isn't spread out so far and wide. Someone is setting these fires.

There has to be a better fire suppression technique than just water alone. We need to figure out some sort of unmanned machine that can just drive around smothering out fire with a water roller or something, overturn the ground. Water is difficult to transport and seems like old technology.

Im no forestry guy but wouldn't it make sense to cut massive fireflies with bulldozers around the residential areas. Then perhaps control burn the non residential area.
