El Habano Moderno: Unboxing the $8,000 Connoisseur's Edition

A couple of years ago I ordered the Connoisseur's Edition of the Book "El Habano Moderno" by Alexander Groom, the gentleman behind Cuban Cigar Website and I just received some packages from the Editor. The Connoisseur's Edition includes a handmade numbered and signed Humidor which has been delayed because the man in charge of handcrafting it suffered the loss of a close member of his family. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to him and his family. The leather edition I received is not the final version as it is not signed and numbered but Alexander Groom sent me this unsigned version for the video. Once I receive the signed and numbered leather book and the Humidor I'll make another video in which I'll also include the other posters I received in previous parcels.

What a wonderful collection of the various editions - a real collectors group! The book plates ate traditionally pasted in the inside front cover, I believe, and used to identify the owner. What a treat to have it all, and leather book marks as well. Congratulations!

Book plates... In Latin they are called "ex libris". A mark often applied to the inside cover of a book to identify ownership. Great purchase. Spectacular collectible books.

Great content as always! I was stunned by the weight when I first lifted my copy of the retail edition, it is indeed a true encyclopedia. Can't wait for the video of the Humidor. Also, thank you for supporting Alexander in such generous way!

I missed the chance of getting the first edition collectors version, they are all sold out. I didnt even know about the kickstart program and im kicking myself for it lol. I did recently order the 2nd edition collectors one and that same poster. Cant wait to get them in my hands!!!

Cuban cigar smokers are the perfect customers. They do not question the price or quality or if its even worth it they just pay for it. So it was well 8000 Dollars for 5-6 books, paper poster and 50 dollar Xikar cutter... Ok so 50 dollar cigar cutter so 7950 left, then 5-6 books so well lets be generous 200 dollars a book, Large poster 30-50 $ well and there is around 6700 $ left where is it ? Pricing is sooooooo delusional by all means tell me if i am wrong but at this point Habanos customers are not there to purchase good cigar but to purchase some sort of symbol of status.

My aim was to help / support this book which is definitely needed at present. I very often use CubanCigarWebsite which is free and I saw this purchase as a sponsoring of Alexander Groom's new book. What is missing is the special numbered hand made humidor which has been delayed and knowing Alex's attention to detail I know it will be great. It will be a piece of history. I could afford it so I thought I'd help. That is all.

Ahh I see so there Is humidor coming as well then. I donno those prices I can see on cuban cigars jars everything they do are sickening I find it difficult to justify it understand it at this point.​@@habanonews
