So obviously I'm way late on this, I decided to dive back into this album today and wanted to see what you guys had to say, especially because I know how much Myke loves El based on the RTJ reviews, anyway, for me "For My Upstairs Neighbor" I think the first verse comes chronologically after the second. The second verse he influences her to carry it out and kill her abusive partner, the second verse is the interrogation where he's trying to protect her. I think especially with the line like "whatever happened probably had to happen anyway." and then in the first verse trying to explain why he doesn't know anything he says "these walls are thick" and in the second it's echoed by him talking about how he can hear her everyday, and putting emphasis on how thin the walls are I believe in a few different places - like that's our tell for his bluff.

In order to expand, we have to continue to grow. I would love to review more than just hip hop believe me but we don't do this for a living at the moment. With your help supporting the channel and spreading the word about what we do, we can definitely continue to grow and build and venture out into other forms of genre. Trust me, it's all in us and it would be dope if we could expand. Thanks for watching!

Honestly, I can't believe no one really grabbed the meaning behind "Sign Here"… it's this thoroughly fucked up and articulate metaphor/comparison of sex, terrorism and torture, and the fascinating/troubling consistencies and behavioral characteristics between each of these base human behaviors. Genius song, just like the rest. And Killer and Despot absolutely DECIMATE "Tougher, Colder, Killer". Kudos to Myke for pointing out the genius of that track's concept and this whole album in general. Four-course artistry that isn't afraid to break rules and go dark as fuck, this is an amazing listen if you let it sink in.

What y'all do for hip hop is incredible. Best hip hop show on KZbin yall cover everything and don't just beat the dead horse of Jay vs Nas, and all the other generic topics. Y'all shed light on actual great underground artists and I appreciate y'all a lot for that. Seriously. Y'all put me up on Billy Woods, Armand Hammer, El P, and some others.

Same ones I've always liked. Emperor, Carcass, At The Gates, Morbid Angel, Darkthrone, Immortal, Satyricon, Dissection, Arckanum, Opeth, Mayhem...off the top of my head. I haven't heard a newer metal album that's impressed me. Unless you could the newest Every Time I Die. That shit's great. Only newer bands I've been into are Castavet, Ghost, Valdur, Woe and Shroud Of Distress (although, I'm not sure how new they are). I can't think of anyone else.

Myke, to elaborate as well, the reason why we take so much from El on 4 $ Vic/FTL is because at first you're listening to him tell a story about himself, and it's so brilliant and intellectual. (Put your headphones on to the instrumental version of this track and it tells the same story, just with the MUSIC ALONE.) Then it turns a mirror on you, and even if you don't have the same vernacular, it sinks into you and forces your eyeballs open from the inside. The most real album in years.By anyone.
