El Toro At Six Flags Great Adventure

El Toro, meaning The Bull in Spanish, is a wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure. It opened to the public on June 11, 2006. It was designed by Intamin of Switzerland. It had the steepest drop of any wooden roller coaster in the world, at 76 degrees, until this record was broken by T Express in 2008 by 1 degree. It is the third tallest (188 ft; 57 m) and third fastest (70 mph; 113 km/h) wooden roller coaster in the world. It is also the first wooden roller coaster to use a cable lift hill instead of the traditional chain lift. Because of the extreme negative g-forces (airtime) on the ride, the lap-bar restraints are very tight, causing some problems for older and larger riders.
El Toro is the main attraction of a new Mexican-themed section, Plaza Del Carnaval. Some of the ride's track is located in Rolling Thunder's infield. It is the steepest lifted (as opposed to launched) roller coaster in the park.

i remember riding this in in 05 or 06. At the top of the lift hill the train did not use to slow down before the first drop. The ejector hills were insane especially the last ejector hill, best experience ever felt. If you want the best experience from el toro then you should ride it in the evening hours.

Rode plenty of wooden coasters and El Toro is king. The drops, the turns, the speed. And, most thrilling, the airtime just have the others beat. It is funny. I am old enough to remember when GA had only 3 coasters - Rolling Thunder, Lightening Loops, and Runaway Mine Train. I was so scared of Rolling Thunder. I was just a 10 year old kid. Now Rolling Thunder looks so dwarfed as it still stands right next to El Toro. It looks almost like a kiddie coaster. El Toro is a must ride.

Yo I just went on it today, I didn't like the steep drop in the beginning. I loved the rest, even though I like could barely move in my seat and I was to scared to put my hands in the air. Also my face went pale. That's what my cousin told me how I looked like after we got off, and saw the picture of us on it. After that, I didn't really ride any rollercoaster's they all looked mad scary. But I had fun like anyone else.

Holy shit!!just got home from the park and I rode three big coasters because I'm a chicken...so nitro(loved it I thought it was really fun...like I really liked it!) Bizarro(it was fun but it made me dizzy as hell like literally and because of that wouldn't ride it again) and finally EL TORO and I will tell you never again...like I thought it was going to be easy going like nitro but this shit intense asf I literally thought I was gonna break my neck with all the pressure of how freaking fast this ride is like nop never again...I also had my eyes closed the whole ride like literally didn't open them once and when it was done I was so freaking scared I started crying...lmfao nop never again. Ps: it was fun though lol
