I've had my DBR62's for almost 4 years now and still "GREATLY" appreciate them every time I listen to them. Also, "for me/ my ears," the DBR62's have provided virtually the same (+/-10%) listening enjoyment as my previous speakers which cost about 7x's as much, which says a lot about the DBR62's performance (maybe this is due to my room acoustics/ or that my hearing may not be as good as is was/ or that I'm becoming more easy to please?!?)

If money was no option I definitely would! I better take it easy on the speaker and component buying otherwise the wife is going to have me sleeping in the shed. A lot of this is coming out of my own pocket so I gotta take it easy for a little while and let the funds build back up.

Hello Kef q350 vs dbr62, which one is better?

I think they are both great speakers but if you're forcing me to choose it would be the DBR62. Reason being is fit and finish on the cabinet is better and the bass output is very impressive for a bookshelf.

I like the way you review. In a world of reviewers who just say the same things as other reviewers you stand out to me. Keep up the great work. I have a ? So i have the kef q750s with the 150s as surrounds and i am thinking of upgrading to the r series, specifically the Kef r3s. Are you planning on reviewing those? Or the concertos that just released. Hopefully, kef will send you both to put against each other. That would be an awesome video! Thanks for all that you're doing! 💪🏽

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I like to do two videos on each speaker I get in. I like to do a look inside video and a review video. In my look inside videos I tear the speaker down and take a look a the quality of the drivers, crossover, and construction quality of the cabinet. In my review videos I give you my listening impressions and how the speaker will perform in a variety of different room sizes. I'm not a big fan of doing review videos because sound quality (good or bad) of a speaker is so subjective and it always feels like I'm trying to sell you on them. My wife and I were just demoing the KEF R3 Meta at my local dealer yesterday and were very impressed with them. IMO if you combine the R3 Meta with a quality subwoofer you're in R11 territory. Even the real wood veneer on the cabinet is of very nice quality. I don't have any plans do a review of them this year but next year I might pull the trigger on a set for my bedroom system. That's how impressed I am with them. They really are very nice speakers and would be surprised if you weren't happy with them. Hope this helps.

I see you've tested them relatively close to the wall. Did this cause any issues such as overemphasized and/or muddy bass and/or lower mids? I'm asking because I'm considering buying a pair to place on my TV cabinet, approximately 5 feet apart and 8 in from the back wall, which will also leave around 8 in from the sides of the enclosing TV cabinet (similar to the distance between them and your floor standing speakers in your first setup.)

IMO the DBR62 is a very forgiving speaker in terms of placement. I tried them in a variety of different locations and couldn't tell much if any difference in sound. Hope this helps.

Hi Robbie, I actually touch on this a little bit in this video. The tonality from the high and mid frequencies are very similar, but the bass output from the DBR62 is definitely a bit stronger. At the end of the day it comes down to if you like chocolate or vanilla ice cream. Both are great flavors so it really depends on what that person is craving. Same goes for these speakers. I think both are great options in their respective price categories and I would be happy with either of them. IMO the fit and finish of the DBR62 cabinet is quite a bit better than the Q350. Bass is also quite a bit stronger from the DBR62 but tonality wise from the highs and mid frequencies they sound very similar to me. If you plan on running a subwoofer with these speakers I doubt you could tell the difference in a blind test that's how similar they sound. I know I had a hard time telling the difference between the two in my own blind test with a subwoofer enabled. If you don't plan on running a subwoofer then its a bit easier to tell the difference between them because the bottom end from the DBR62 is pretty strong for a bookshelf. If I was force to choose between the Q350 and DBR62 I would pick the DBR62 because of the nicer fit and finish of the cabinet and bass output. Hope this helps!

Hello, thanks for this review. I have a pair of DBR62 but I found a pair of ELAC Carina BS243.4 at very low price, will you review them in future? I'd like to know if replacing DBR62 with Carina worth It but there is no review of Carina on youtube made like you made them, with teardown and test of each driver unit. Thanks.

Hello! No problem! Sadly, I have no plans to do a video on the ELAC Carina BS243.4 anytime soon unless Elac wants to send me a pair. I haven't heard the Carinia so can't comment on how they compare to the DBR62. You can try reaching out to Elac and see if they will send me a review sample but I doubt it because my channel is too small to matter. :)

The Elac Carina have an original MSRP of $1000 per pair. I would hope they are "better" than the DBR62!!! I can't comment on the Carina because I have never heard them but why not purchase both pairs and return the pair you don't like? Elac and Amazon both have a very good in-home trial period.

please me forgive english is not my first speaking language. I very much like your videos on speakers and very much like your videos on bass speakers. I just bought the Elac Debut Reference speaker. I very much like the way the speaker sounds and the way the speaker views. I would like to match the speaker with a bass speaker. Views are important for me and i very much like the REL HT1003 bass speaker. Do you feel it would be a good (i dont know how to say) but work like a team well with the Elac? @@carravagio16 I have a REL HT1205 and it pairs beautifully with the Elac DBR62. I prefer sealed subwoofers for my music listening sessions because group delay on a sealed subwoofer is much lower than a ported subwoofer. To me sealed subwoofers sound more natural too but that’s just my opinion.

Thank you! For the money the Studio 530s are very good. The Elac DBR62 does offer more in the midrange and bass department thanks to its larger 6.5" woofer. Is it a radical jump? Well, that depends on the person doing the comparison because what you just asked is a very subjective topic. IMO I think its worth the upgrade to the DBR62 over the Studio 530, but that's me. I would recommend trying a pair out for yourself and if you don't like them you can always return them. Elac has a great risk free in home trial period that makes returns very easy. Hope this helps.

IMO the biggest differences between these two speakers is in the high frequencies (tweeter). I really like the tweeter on the Ultra Evolution a lot better over the DBR62. The SVS's tweeter has more dimension, is smoother, better clarity, and more detailed. The SVS speakers are also quite a bit more so it should be better in some areas. Hope this helps.
