I was at Lincoln library during this exhibit on Judy. I was 30 and just happened to be in Manhattan and went to this exhibit. I saw her clothes that she wore on her series that I hadn’t seen yet. I was a Judy fan from watching Oz as a kid on TV . The auditorium where this was going on I walked right past it. I didn’t know who Elaine was . Oh if I could go back on time , but I’d like to go back further if I could and see Judy in person . She affected me as a kid watching her on TV in a bizarre movie that seemed animated but wasn’t . 7 minutes in the film I was hooked when Judy sang Rainbow . And always will be .

Elaine Stritch was a very funny and talented lady and she spoke of Judy Garland with such respect love and humor.. When she said those words “ that i don’t know what to do with my heart”, really choked me up because I can imagine Judy saying that.. One of Judy’s quotes is “ I can live without money but I can’t live without love “

When I think about Judy , I don’t know what to do with my heart. All I know is that it is full.

Thank you for sharing this. Boy, I bet Elaine and Judy could party! I love that Elaine displays unabashedly her love and adoration for Judy,,,,I agree with Elaine that no one in show business gets near Judy and I mean no one! I am grateful for this post because it is heartfelt and sincere and so not like those mindless formulaic tributes that they have on television they fall completely flat. BTW Were there tremors going on during this event? What is with that spasmodic camera?
