I was in the chorus of a show Elaine did years ago and spoke with her briefly a couple of times (she was exactly who I hoped she would be). A few years later, I literally bumped into her on 9th Avenue with my very large gym bag. I'm not sure if she remembered me or not, but she looked at me, then down at my bag and growled, "off to the gym?" To which I responded "yes, and then to a fitting." She howled with laughter, clearly loving that I had picked up on her reference to her signature song. It was just a silly, momentary exchange, but I'll treasure it forever. There will never be anyone else like her.

Good analogy, Renan. Although I know little of Frances McDormand, other than having seen her in the film 'Fargo' and that she is one of those deranged Hollyweird left-wingers married to one of the Coen brothers film directors. But both Lucy and Joan Rivers were more down-to-earth and Republicans. I'd say Elaine Stritch had a bit of Bette Davis in her too, feisty, but with a heart.

Have you ever had this feeling about someone famous that if you had a chance to meet her or him face to face, and had a chance to talk then you would definitely become friends? I always had this about Elaine. And I also know that I’m not alone in such feeling and so many people were intimidated by her but more so fascinated by her and thrilled with her. She was the force of nature, and we were blessed to have her!♥️👏🏼 Can’t believe it’ll be 10 years this July😔

There are very credible reasons for a belief in God and espousing that belief is perfectly legitimate... it does not make one presumptuous. Just are you are entitled to espouse your non-belief and be respected for that. This woman lived a lot, lost her young husband after 10 years of marriage, battled addiction and shone thru - she credits God with helping her thru and that is perfectly fine. She should not be denigrated for that, any more that I would feel anyone should denigrate you. So live a great life be happy and someday we will all know the big secret (or maybe not!)
