Elaine is so young and innocent. Just happy to be on the world stage. Glad she has that attitude where she doesn't let defeat get her down. She only concerns herself for the next race and the next win!
@claudiakennedy2797 жыл бұрын
It is a testament to her class that she has absolutely no excuses for her loss. She has tried in no way to take away from the winners. "I don't know what happened". Not necessarily so. She had been throwing up before the finals and was dehydrated. Ta'lou commented that, during warm up, she was concerned about her because she was throwing up again. It shows great strength of character to not use her dehydration and illness as an excuse for her loss.

I'm not Jamaican but I am also from the Caribbean and I'm extremely proud of Elaine. She's such an amazing athlete but she just didn't have it tonight and that's okay. Take Kendra Harrison for example. She missed the Olympic team last year and later broke the world record in the women's 100m hurdles. I have faith that Elaine will do monster damage in meets to come.

Jason moss, this is all about Elaine she had a bad day and she needs our sympathy, that subtle sarcasm isn't necessary, there is no need to mention Shelly, they're two different athletes and their accomplishment will be different. Shelly is great already and Elaine has accomplished something that few female athletes has ever accomplish by winning gold in the 100 & 200 m at the Olympics and if she is able to do so again at the 2020 Olympic she will stand alone in history.
@ramoalvarez82227 жыл бұрын
U ARE A BIG OLE DUTTY WAGONIST, I BET U WERE JUMPING UP LAST YR FOR ET.PLUS LET ME TELL U THIS, DON'T LOOK FORWARD FOR SAFP TO COME BACK AND DOMINATE, LIKE SHE USED TO, SHE'S NOT GOING TO BEAT ET. WANNA KNOW WHY?SAFP WILL BE 31 LATER THIS YR, WHICH MEANS THAT AT THE NEXT WC IN 2019 SHE'S GOING TO BE 33 AND AT THE 2020 OLYMPICS SHE'LL BE 34 YO AND SHE'S GOING TO BE PAST HER BEST, SHE WOULD HAVE PEAKED BY THEN, SO SAFP IS GOING TO STRUGGLE AGAINST THE FAST, YOUNGER, UP COMING SPRINTERS,JUST LIKE HOW VCB HAS BEEN STRUGGLING FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YRS, BECAUSE SHE'S PAST HER BEST AND AT 35 YO,SHE IS PAST HER PEAK.IN 2019 ET WILL BE 27 AND IN 2020,SHE'LL BE 28 YO, SO SHE'S STILL GOING TO BE IN HER PRIME, WHERE AS SAFP WOULD HAVE PEAKED,SO ET WILL BE THE ONE WHO WE WILL STILL HAVE TO DEPEND ON. IT'S A YOUNG PERSON'S SPORT, SAFP WAS 21 WHEN SHE BECAME OLYMPIC CHAMP AND KNOCKED THE OLDER VETERANS OFF THIER PERCH, LIKE WISE BOLT, BUT LOOK HOW THE STALWART VETERANS STRUGGLED AT THIS WC, COMPARED TO THEIR YOUNGER RIVALS.BOLT IS 31 AND HE'S RETIRING, BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT HE HAS PEAKED AND SOONER OR LATER HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BEATEN BY THE YOUNGER UP COMING SPRINTERS LIKE DE GRASSE. LA SHAWN MERRIT IS 31, SO TOO ALLISON FELIX, BOLT AND ARIES MERRIT AS WELL,WHO IS THE WRH AND WAS EXPECTED TO CHALLENGE OMAR MCLEOUD, BUT HE FINISHED OUT OF THE MEDALS.ALLISON FELIX WOULD NOT HAVE MEDALED IF SHANUE MILLER DIDN'T GET INJURED AND PULLED UP, MILLER IS LIKE 23, AND THE GIRL WHO GOT SILVER IS JUST 19 YO. Felix didn't have any injury like last season, SO IT'S CALLED THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD.SAFP IS A GREAT CHAMP, BUT WHEN SHE COMES BACK, SHE AIN'T GOING TO DOMINATE, AND THEN OLE WAGONISTS LIKE U WHO ARE HAVING A DIG AT ET, WILL THEN FORGET ABOUT HER AND BE ALL ABOUT ET.

Elaine Thompson doesn't have a clue how big this disappointment is, bigger than Usain Bolt
@keithwelch36117 жыл бұрын
Tommy Thomas, i think you're right she may not be fully aware how big a disappointment it really is and that might be a good thing she don't need to put added pressure on herself we need her to perform at her best and it is harder to do that if she is under much pressure. i still cant wrap my mind around the fact that Elaine lost this race for a person that consistently ran low 10.7 on relatively slow track manage to run 10.98 on a very fast track like the on here in London, Torie, Talou, and Shippers all knew something went terrible wrong to Elaine in this race otherwise the result would have been different
@icefield3917 жыл бұрын

@Selfmade2T7 жыл бұрын
Keith Welch. True, they know but I say all along Elaine drive phase is too long, they were all running before Elaine came out of drive. Ta Lou was way ahead she would not have caught up with her. Bowie ran past her as she came up. It wasn't her race. She is still the beast out there watch her whipp their asses in the diamond league in September if she runs. Yes, we're very, very disappointed but we have to move on and give god thanks.
@johndillinger29097 жыл бұрын
She does not have a clue. Please explain?. Why is an athlete losing a race seems like a big disappointment? If an athlete has tested positive it is a big disappointment I guess. She gave no excuses and we all know that there is a problem. But that is good. let no secrets out keep the world guessing. Usain has lost the desire to compete anymore. Period. The man must be in a lot of discomfort to train and keep on realigning his (scoliosis)curved spine ever so often for 16 years. It is like continuously beating a piece of iron and molding it into shape each time the heat cause its distortion. Some people will never understand. Their desire it seems is to want the athlete to run themselves into the ground. They are human.
@johndoe-pk6tj7 жыл бұрын
Not true. Bowie has been the world leader in the 200 meter for the last 2 years. She won silver in the 100 meters at the Olympics...who the hell did y'all think was Elaine's competition? Bowie is the real deal. People just don't want to admit it. Also, its track. You might run10.70 one week..then next week you might run 11.00 flat. Elaine is damn funny.
