The Hurricanes 1990s Kids TV Nostalgia. soccer football theme tune.Hurricanes is an animated series produced by DIC Entertainment, Siriol Productions and Scottish Television.[1] The show was distributed by Cookie Jar Entertainment for syndication outside of the UK, with Scottish Television controlling the UK rights. The series first aired in 1993 and ended in 1997.

Hello, Jonathan. A rinky dink studio run by Glenn Kennedy called One Shot studios located in Quezon City here in the Philippines (It's closed for years now). My animation director was Oliver Guse (a Canadian from Ottawa) who now has been residing here for over 10 years.

Just a quick question, was The Hurricanes team based off Celtic F.C? The similarities seem quite strong. You have a manager called Jock Stone and a family dynasty that owns it (which was the case in the early 90's).

This was a strange programme. It was made in America for Scotland to show in the UK but it was so based around US soccer. They also played the same team every week.

I agree with you.The Hurricanes animated cartoon needs to be released on both DVD and the Internet so that we can watch this The Hurricanes animated cartoon anytime we want too.Does anyone else agree with me?.

It was UK/US joint production of Scottish Television (from ITV) and DIC. It started airing I think about 1993 and continued till 96 or 97, it had a couple of videos released in the US and the UK and so far no plans yet for a DVD release. They also had a comic printed for a while. The show ran it alongside Double Dragon, King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, Mighty Max, etc. Scottish and DIC, also produced the cartoon Captain Zed and the Zee Zone along with Tony Collingwood Productions which lasted for 2 seasons one in 1991 and one in 1992. Scottish and DIC team again, also produced the cartoon Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century, along with Les Studios Tex, which lasted for 2 seasons, one in 1999-2000 and one in 2001. This was their previous project before and after The Hurricanes.

@@tommymiller5074 If I had the capital, I'd launch my own DVD company. I'd call it Sagittarius Entertainment. I would release DVDs and Blu Rays of current kid's shows (such as JoJo and GranGran and The Rubbish World of Dave Spud, for example), well remembered kid's shows that haven't gotten (much in the way of) DVD releases (such as Hurricanes, Wizadora, Mike and Angelo, Joshua Jones and whatever else you can think of), some anime (such as Yu-Gi-Oh! and BeyBlade) and I would flat out acquire certain REALLY obscure kid's shows and release them on DVD (such as PC Pinkerton, Widget The World Watcher, maybe even Ovide and The Gang)! Kid's stuff would be my company's bread and butter, but I would also put out the occasional adult release, such as Peter Jackson puppet movie Meet The Feebles!

The Hurricanes aired as part of Amazin! Adventures block on Saturday and/or Sunday Morings from September 12, 1993 to September 1994 syndicated (meant for it aired on off-network on local channels of independent stations, along with affiliates Fox and the big 3 networks affiliates of NBC, ABC and CBS). And this never aired in my area in South Carolina at that timeframe because I didn't watch the series back then. I heard this show in the 90's. The next year, the program moved from syndicated to ESPN2, because It was also aired on ESPN2 at the time. I did watch the show in later life.

Before I saw this I couldn't even remember what this show was called as I was trying my best to remember for years. When I finally found this show I started getting emotional. I remember watching this as a kid. I wish there could be a channel/KZbin channel where it shows a lot of classic shows like this show, Ed Eddy n Eddy, Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, Cramp Twins, etc ☑

I don't think this cartoon aired in too many US markets. It did air in Dallas-Ft. Worth in 1993 as part of the "Amazin' Adventures" block, as I recall. It even had the FCC required educational segment. Wasn't on for too long.

Yet another fond Citv memory of mine! It ended in 1997? The year before, I ditched Citv and Children's BBC as a result of having got Sky, resulting in my viewing habits consisting of Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and (half a year after having got Sky) Fox Kids!

I remember them citv days, i first watched this when i was 5 or 6 (back in 92 or 93) then after 3 episodes citv never put it back on again.. didnt matter anyway cus a year or 2 later we got cable from that moment it was cartoon network or Nickelodeon and didnt really look back since

Still worse than my NICAM VHS home recordings and those was in long play format. Something dodgey with the audio in the tape duplication over the broadcast tapes? In the proper quality the voice was more boastful like a Slade record. The treble came out a lot better the entire mid range sounded a lot better this duplication process sounds flat compared to the TV one in my ears.

Why doesn't the music on pre recorded VHS of this sound as good or as loud as it did on NICAM TV recordings of first airings and worst of all worse than long play VHS recordings?
