I’ve been outta the USPSA game for a while. What needs to be “fixed” specifically? Need more context. Thanks

Financials. Losing money and no one can get a detailed balance sheet. Political fighting on the board, OLD vs NEW, related to finance and hypocracy of rule application.

Hi ben. Ive been watching all your videos and i could proudly say you have helped me a lot in levelling up my shooting skills. Im shooting for barely a year now and im looking for ways to improve my skills considering the steep cost of ammos we have here in the philippines. Its around 32cents (US DOLLAR) per round. Now ive come across this ACE VR system and im getting pretty good reviews from our top level shooters. Whats your take in it? And also is it possible for u to make an honest review of the ACE VR system? Thank u and more power

Are you able to explain what these issues are to us. Many of us are not in the know and may be lost somewhat on these topic. Would be great to know what’s happening and what could be done to straighten it out. Cheers. 🤙

Nothing you said makes any sense to me. I'm thinking about getting involved in competition just fun. Should I avoid USPSA?
@frank136215 ай бұрын
You don't need a membership for local matches and most areas have hit factor (same rules, not affiliated with USPSA) matches and outlaw (their own rules and independent) matches now. Even with all the BS at the top there's always plenty of good guys at all these matches. You have nothing to lose to give it a shot, just don't get sucked into the drama. It's never-ending with this org.

If i would have known they wouldn't bring Scott back i wouldn't have renewed my membership. So, I'll give them another year to get it straightened out.

How’s the process for getting guns into Canada for classes?
@johnb74305 ай бұрын
I think more clubs are running "outlaw" and PCSL matches and realizing exactly how much USPSA was not providing. And also how much those fees were impacting. And... suspending one of a VERY FEW people that was volunteering to do a thankless task is short sighted to the point of idiocy.

Who is running in areas 4 and 5?

IMO, nothing will change until Hot Dog is gone. He’s the ring leader and has way too much influence on others on the BOD. The biggest issue is see with change is that the average shooter bases their decision on who to vote in as AD by “how nice they are”. All these old fucks are nice in person. They shoot the shit with you m. Joke around. Maybe they even run good matches. None that is an indication of how they’re going to do as an AD. IMO, the most important quality in an AD candidate is that they detest Hot Dog. Thats a good start. I also personally think we need people that aren’t so agreeable. That’s an issue we have now.

In lieu of Scott coming back to Area 3, I thought there was a letter from section coordinators recommending the appointment of Luke Faust who may have come in 2nd in the election. The fact that the board just ignores everything that the membership in Area 3 has asked for is tyrannical rather than democratic and plain infuriating. I don't know anything about the guy they picked, but it is sad that they can so flagrantly ignore the will of the membership.

I think Luke knew that if he dropped out, the board would be absolutely forced to accept Andy as A3 right away. I know none of these people so take that for what you will.

Luke and Andy both applied to run in the special election. They got together and sorted things out, so Luke withdrew so that the board would have to immediately seat Andy for the rest of Scott's original term. Leighton and co. had originally tried to stick Sherwyn Greenfield back in for Area 3, ignoring the section coordinator's recommendation, but that ended up not happening. IIRC, Luke's decision to drop out was to try to mitigate any chance of further trickery from the board. I know Luke and have chatted with Andy a few times. I'm completely confident they're on the same page as Scott

@@mattrognstad Andy and Scott were addressing this on a podcase together before this decision was made, they get along fine and agreed one of them would be running the Area 3 Match in Grand Island, NE. All other candidates withdrew in support of Andy. The board did try to put Sherwyn back in but he declined, I think he had enough of the drama llama stuff after being VP and stuck with President when he was booted out before the electin of Lin.

I have shot with the new Area 3 director Andy Erickson for a few years, he has developed a very nice discipline at a club just an hour 1/2 from me. USPSA had on their website that Area 3 was scheduled for voting in a special election this month to replace Scott. That did not happen as it appears all other candidates besides Andy dropped out before the election could happen, so Andy is in by default. I have an all USPSA classifier shoot at Eastern, NE Gun Club in Louisville, NE this Sunday, mostly making the drive to get classified in Limited Optics and this is the closest chance for me with all the hit factor matches going on.

USPSA doesn't know how to market itself, even to gun owners who belong to gun forumns.

There is no way the org succeeds without a *clear* North Star metric (or a benevolent tyrant takes over). Without an overarching, measurable goal you DONT know if you made a good decision because you don’t have clear criteria to determine value. What core goal would work? Perhaps something like a “3 year projected attendance” using the current growth rate * the current churn rate. That balances quality of matches (retention) and new member activation (growth). (Stepping into this late without having followed every step of the backstory)

I’ve only dabbled in USPSA, so I’m not up on all the drama. I have to ask though, what’s the pay off for all the corruption in such a small sport? It’s just a sport, how do people become so unhinged over such a thing? Is there a lot of money in this? Do these people just live in a vacuum and lose their grip on reality and the rest of their daily lives and responsibilities?

There’s been a ton of lateral movement but no visible forward movement. I’d consider this year a stage setting year for the next era. We can have Berry and Rizzi caliber of guys if we vote this year. In A4, it’s between Godbold and Acosta. I don’t think there’s a wrong pick there. I’m sure Andy will do Scott’s will and not let down his area. We need absolutely the best person in A2 because it’s probably the most influential area. The MD is probably the most important role this year to open up. This will determine the fate of the org.
