One summer over a decade ago I stumbled onto this song and the first time I heard it I cried so hard I had to go lay down. It spoke to a love I thought I had that was only a dream. We all deal with the memories that haunt us and this song is *perfect* in expressing that. I love Elbow.

Effin unreal. Elbow is the most underrated band of musicians--true artists in every sense of the word. Their song constructs are flawless, lyrics poetic, everything....they are simple amazing.

my question is, why are these bands not so well known in the states? they need to be played on a big scale and get the exposure they deserve.

I never...wow. This song is chilling and prophetic. Brutal story of regret of love lost. Live today. Every day is a gift - especially if it's a day spent with someone you truly love. Work is necessary but not to the point of sacrificing your soul. If you're lucky enough to have solid work/life balance, tell your SO how much you love them. Then show them. I believe that is what this song is about.

Wow! Never heard of this band before but just saw them in Montreal this past weekend at the Osheaga Festival and I was really very impressed. Good songs, very catchy and melodic, great instrumetation, and this guy has a great voice. I still have their songs stuck in my head. Just keeping that great Manchester tradition alive, I suppose. Thank you for a great show, 'Elbow'.

The guys live near me in Radcliffe/Prestwich and they are a great set of lads. Down to earth and extremely grounded. They deserve all the success they are getting. A great band in the true sense of the word.

Ever since a college friend of mine introduced me to this band, i always come back to listen to this, Audience with the pope, and others made by this marvelous band. I only wish my uncle, who loved these kinds of bands, could have heard this marvel.

Brilliant. Last night I saw them @club Watt in Rotterdam. I heaven't listened to Elbow in a while. Just so I'd be suprised from every song they'd played. In the car on the way to R-dam they played this song on Studio Brussels. Few hours later I saw a very good concert of the gents. I especially enjoyed the talks in between songs. About Stevie Wonder and marriage thingies.. It was fun. Elbow are definitely the best indie band at the moment for me. Cheers!

"And I can't move my arm, for fear that you will wake" great lyric that, surprised it dosen't turn up more often. That must happen so much to so many people it should really be a complete cliche by now but well done elbow you got away with it. This whole album's great, seems to be some random argument going on below about humming things but well, I find meself humming black metal songs and breakcore bass lines n all sorts, this ones EASY. And canny catchy, that synth bass line's a beastie!
