Tip: if you want the dragon magic to do more damage if your gonna use it use the dragon communion seal which boosts dragon damage. You can also add points to arcane as the Dragon Communion Seal scales off faith and mostly arcane. (Dragon Communion Seal is found in Fringefolk Hero's Grave, you need two stonesword keys to access it, you get the dragon communion seal from it after killing a certain knight)

For anyone having trouble with this boss i got you. For its cannon that it uses at long range roll 1 second after you here the ping. For the slam attack Roll 3 seconds after his tail goes up. If it hits you roll again instantly. If not wait another 2 seconds and roll again to dodge the second one. Any attack that it uses its jaw like its bite attack and 1shot kill grab just jump(i know that move is hard because he teleports above you but i promise it will get easier to avoid) His Ash of War from his remembrance just sprint back to avoid all 4 hits. this fight is a LOT easier if your not locked onto the boss because the game tries to correct the camera angel and half the time the head will be behind you. The only incantation i used was Magic Fortification and the only thing my Wondrous gave me was stamina regen and i kill him with only 2 red pots at 32hp stat

For whoever sees this comment in the future, you have to hold the attack button while applying rot (two breath animation) it takes two application for the scarlet rot to stick, you have to apply it 4 times for most (all?) bosses, because their health drops to half and the rot wears off, then you go in for round 2 of rot breath (apply 2 more times)

That's literally the perfect strategy for this boss, thanks for hug the walls tip, what I realized for this boss is that you have to come more prepared than usual to the cheese. I tried to rush Astel at like lvl 50 at first with no upgrades or preparations whatsoever and he completely destroyed me. A came back now at lvl 95 which is still considered underleveled, but have upgraded my Vigor to 32, my Finger Seal to +19 and my Mimic Tear to +10. I have equipped myself and my mimic tear with a finger seal and strong magic shield for great damage negation. My strat to reproduce was: Go in Dodge Laser Run to Astel Rot Astel Run Away And Hug The Wall Wait Once The Rot Runs Out Summon My Mimic Tear Let The Mimic Tear Literally Face Tank The Boss For The Rest Of The Fight With No Problems Whatsoever Thanks To The Shield Sneak Up On Astel Rot Astel Hug The Wall Let The Mimic Tear Face Tank Again Profit

It still works. Not sure if it's worth, though. The rot breath takes a long time to cast and the game punishes you every time you click to attack. I tried like, 15 times and by the last, I was mostly fighting like any other boss, because you still have to avoid everything and use the breath 3~4 times without getting punished.

i had tried your way, it work and im done but i need 5 hour to finish that LOL. Anyway thank you for your helpful tip. :D * Requirement for this: - You need at least 3 Flask of cerulean tear. - Have more than 1500HP(if lower it will very hard). - Most important thing you must have dodge skill, this will take time to finalize. * Fight: - Dont stay too close under boss because it will do hard skill and you cant dodge. - Keep a suitable position in front of it (specifically, as long as you need to practice and observe, there will be horizontal skills that are quite slow that you can easily dodge. Wait until it Launch a skill that spins and spits out. As soon as you notice this, immediately launch your dragon skill because it takes a lot of time to cast. At least 800 damage caused by the rot will have a blood loss effect. In the video, he hid behind it to spray because he had a lot of blood so he could survive. Do it my way and you won't lose any blood. -The remaining distance dodges do the same as the video.

Not sure what they’ve done as of Feb 2024, that pincer grab and eat takes way more health than that, also he doesn’t eat and teleport, he eats and whips his tail as you’re trying to get back to your feet. 😂. This guy is killing me, and no one has the right method.

I couldn’t get the second rotten breath to land so I Godrick rune and grafted Blade ability to boost my hp and stamina so I can keep dodging and staying alive while my banished knight engavll +9 attacked him and lowered the bosses hp

Okay just defeated the boss right now Here’s the way I did I used kristoff the dragon knight and got him leveled up nicely to 8 or 7, he can help get the damage in and distract but be careful when putting him down, I usually did whenever the boss was busy stabbing nothing Then I used the Scarlett rot in the video but going in and dealing damage with the scarlet rot works better than running If the boss spawns far don’t go for it, if it spawns close that’s your chance Okay lastly at the start you straight up book it, if you get hit by the laser, your done, because that give its tail time to slap u and as for the meteorites just keep dodge rolling to the side, it’s a rare chance it hits you but you’re not invincible Hopefully any of these tips work, this isn’t gonna make you beat the boss in 1 run so you kinda gotta just chin up and keep going, that’s about it (Edit) oh yeah one more thing, any of those stupid slams with the purple magic it does or you see it start using that big gravity attack, spam roll away, that’s what kristoff is for
