During one of the playthrough vids, developer had stated that sets do give benefits. In fact, some set pieces have no stats on their own, and only have an effect when a complete set is worn.

I laughed when someone said samurai. Having R.O.B. and spamming corpse piler usually makes the boss fight easier in the video game but I really want moonveil and the sword of night and flame. Hopefully the board game allows OP weapon skills to be spammed LOL

Even with the all-in you're only getting Western Limgrave, Stormveil Castle, and (part of) the Weeping Peninsula. You should not expect to get a unique item found in the Mountaintops of the Giants.
