The only thing that had me worried about the game was whether they’d be able to make the open world feel varied and interesting where it seems so many open world games fail to do this. Dude co op is a blast in this game! Grab a friend or play with randoms!. It's going to be fun! Contrary to what you hear about these games, Fromsoftware wants you to beat the game with people. The way of completing side quests in From Soft games is different to any other game. They aren’t there for you to ‘successfully complete’ them. What you do will affect the NPCs is different ways, some might be positive, usually negative. The negative is just as important to convey the experience of the world as the positive is. @@phoenixsmokes Dark souls 2 is perfectly fine, it doesn't have the 4 directional rolling crap that DS1 had, and has some pretty memorable bossfights too. The biggest issue with it is how hard it is to play with someone else. Feels more like it was designed for singleplayer than any other DS or souls-like game in the franchise. Its health decay from dying feels very Demon Souls as well, just gotta accept that 50% is your true health and anything else is extra.

Just focus on learning the map and mechanics and move sets, don’t expect to have a perfect run on few areas of the game. Some areas makes you want to commit arson, so take breaks every now and then. This mantra Works out well with all souls games.

This seems like a game that's unapologetically itself. The devs didn't compromise the quality of design and polish (in all areas) to pander to a market or fulfill a trend. Games like Cuphead, Bioshock 1, Shovel Knight, Mother, are what come to mind that wreak of the passion from their dev teams. And I'm definetly feeling that energy here. I'm by no means a Souls fans, but this victory got me excited for the future of gaming as an art form alone. 🎨

No day one DLC, no microtransactions or battlepass of any kind. Except for some bugs and performance issues Elden Ring is a complete package, this style of game isn't for everyone, but for me it's an absolute must buy and I'll probably be playing it for years.

Elden Ring outruns every other currently released game. Even for its minor flaws Elden Ring accomplished a lot, providing a nostalgic experience, with tense excitement moments. You can't rate a game on its controls alone, but even so it has the best controls I've seen in a game. The camera is the only thing that is not so great. Maybe if you played the game correctly instead of refunding it the second you got past the tutorial after dying, you'd know the game is actually great.

The best way to explain this game is that even if you don't complete all areas or beat the already discovered 151 bosses (listed on wiki so there's probably even more), it's beautiful in the sense that there's literally so much to do and so many places to go. So almost every player will still have their own experiences and probably have enough to be satisfied. Even if you only fight 80 bosses, that's still 80 bosses! This game is the best open world rpg any true fan of those genres could ask for.

Great game but on many occasions it feels like FromSoft forgot the, “fair” part of the, “hard but fair” premise they’re renowned for. Too many bosses have unending loops of super wide, sweeping attacks, with hefty range, 1-2 shot damage output, and ludicrous speed. If you have fun mashing spells from a distance and chugging estus you’ll have a great time. If you try a str/melee build you’re going to have a tough go at it.
