Agree, I'm surprised it gave people a hard time. I got it on my second try, and that's when I still discovered it had a third phase 😂 that big AOE explosion really leaves it vulnerable. Gaius on the otherhand...fuck that boar rider lol.

I think it depends on your blessing level when you find him. I hated Scadutree Avatar, but I also fought him at like blessing 5 or something so those three HP bars were a lot beefier. Meanwhile, I didn't find Gaius until later on and it only took me like 5 tries 🤷🏼‍♂️

Personally I find radahns phase 2 to be the least fair, first phase feels pretty well paced and not too overwhelming but miquella changes it into a damn laser light show that even causes from rate drops on a PS5, I kinda dread fighting him on PC cause I fear that my game would probably crash

The catapult ability with it able to run away or plow into you is the annoying bit. You start getting "Elden Beast Syndrome" as you have to pursue it. Aside from that its an alright boss

@@Issengan not the actual needing to dodge the attack, but the fact it can get away from you with the attack. It draws out the fight a bit longer since you need to chase the flower, just like when the Elden Beast swims away from the player or teleports away and you have to chase it down. Other than that the flower has piss health and all of its attacks are exaggerated so you know what it's doing, but if it removes itself from the fight you can't hit the bastard.

@@kirbyis4ever eh. not really. elden beast does what it can to *stay* away from you, scadutree avatar does end up getting away from that, but then it almost immediately begins approaching you again. and besides, you can summon torrent for elden beast now so if it running is a problem, torrent closes that distance fairly easily

The problem is, the dogs are never alone. One dog is perfectly fine. 5 dogs are really hard to deal with. You could totally have summoned a pack to aid you to more accurately simulate the fairness of it

Commander Gaius seemed like some absolute nonsense on my first playthrough, but now going through it the second time I had the Silver Mirrorshield + Deflecting Hardtear, and it was the most fun and fair-feeling fight in the entire DLC, save for maybe having a boxing match with the Red Bear.

He's annoying up to the point that you learn to dodge into his boar charge instead of away or to the sides. Well, he's still a bit annoying after that since he's evasive with how fast the boar is. The charge move just feels like BS until you realize you're doing something wrong the whole time!

Having fought every boss and enemy in the dlc now, by far the most unfair enemy and this should be incredibly obvious Its Radahn and Miquella, not just consort Radahn because he's not that difficult but the holy spam, teleporting, grab that 2 times will insta kill you, massive attack swings with holy explosions 2nd phase is BY FAR the most unfair enemy in not just the dlc but all of elden ring.

Scadutree Avatar is a glass cannon with Tears of Denial and a Ruptured Crystal Tear. Clarification: Still very dangerous, but also very fragile - particularly and especially when wielding fire. Or, given the arena, lightning.

The only unfair Gaius move is the opening charge which you can easily avoid by getting on torrent before he hits you which gives you a lot of i-frames. Other than that, the fight is pretty fun.

The only one out of these I'd consider unfair is Senesax. I've never had issues with Gaius' charge attack. Fire Knights and Curseblades are hard, but manageable. Horned Warriors just force you to actually dodge a normal enemy instead of staggering it to death. Putrescent Knight and Divine Beast Dancing Lion seemed pretty fair and fun to me. The only thing you need to beat Scadutree Avatar is a fire weapon while hitting the head. Even though I haven't beaten Radahn and do agree that the visuals in phase 2 aren't amazing, I still find it far from unfair. And I think people exaggerate how unfair dogs are. I can imagine that they would be a pain in slower fromsoftware games, but in elden ring they are little more than a slight annoyance.

The only „unfair“ enemy seems like the Golden Hippopotamus in Shadow Keep, just because the odds are against you in every way (big boss, small arena) (can reach you from the other side of the arena fairly easily) (rolling attack in second phase)

I'd say most unfair for one very specific attack, is Gaius. Most unfair overall, is Radahn 2.0. Most insufferable is Romina though. Furnace Golems are the most tedious, but not really the most unfair. Jori is the most infuriating. As far as regular enemies go, it's the mob of Inquisitors and the Horned Warrior at that one staircase. You know the one. We all know the one.

Now that I've fought every boss in the dlc, it's definitely metyr, she summons and has moves that seem to impossible to avoid consistently, radahn, gaius, nothing in their tool kit is impossible to get after watching a couple dudes do it naked no hit with a club, metyr is just the hands, which already suck, with more unfair moves and summons.
