The estoc is one of my favourite "regular" weapons by far. There's always going to be a place in my heart for legendary weapons like the Dark Moon Greatsword, Sacred Relic Sword, or Ordovis' Greatsword, but I kind of like using "regular" weapons due to the thematic idea of giving that weapon a story. Something like Ordovis' Greatsword already has a story connected to the Crucible Knight Ordovis, making it feel very disconnected from your character; comparatively, if you use a regular weapon, you're giving that weapon the story of the Tarnished who became Elden Lord. Just for fun, imagine a character picking up the weapon that was once wielded by the Tarnished Elden Lord many hundreds of years after the events of the story, in the same way that you pick up weapons from heroes of the past. Of all regular weapons, the estoc is one of the most satisfying to use by far. It's fast, it's got good enough range, an excellent moveset with several types of damage, it can be buffed with magic or consumables (or just infused if those aren't your style), it has a wide range of available ashes of war, and it just looks very stylish and clean on the majority of loadouts and builds. I did a dual wield estoc + rapier build on my first playthrough of Elden Ring, and despite trying a huge variety of new builds for fun, I still feel the most "complete" when using the estoc in some form.
@mishael86312 жыл бұрын
Legendary piercing weapon imbued with frost. Used by Ivy on his journey of becoming the Elden Lord. Once a tarnished, Ivy arrived at the Lands Between and collected all seven Great Runes together by slaying each of the demigods who held them. With the shattered fragments of the Elden Ring united, he mended it and became Elden Lord, a feat not one of the demigods came close to.

Shields are another OP thing on its own alone. Sometimes dual whielding is better but often shields just cover your ass when you mess up a roll which is amazing. Guarding as a mechanic is something you dont see players use a lot anymore. It was popular in the DS1 days, i dont get it because you can be extremely dangerous with a shield. Ever heard of the blue tearstone ring hotswap when ur 1 hit away & tanking everything away with the shield? No joke you can take like 10 extra hits through the sheild with the Blue talisman that raises your all your DEF by +50% from behind the shield. It's insanely overpowered.

If anyone has any info on what might have actually happened in either of these instances please let me know.

Might not be a true combo, might just be a really small window to roll out without being able to buffer the input so most of the time you'll miss the window if you just mash roll

Feels like they're fairy intuitive if you're playing with controller. Look the opposite way, back step, then run attack in direction of opponent.
@kylebusc36242 жыл бұрын
If your doing reverse backstep you can't just move the stick top to bottom it will pivot your character instead. You gatta make your character do a full 180° turn with the left stick before you backstep. Like running in a mini circle
@TrueComboKing2 жыл бұрын
There’s a fairly easy way to do this even if you can’t get the regular reverse backstep working. This only works with three weapon types though, Heavy Lances, Curved Swords and Rapiers. It only works with their R2 though. Anywho, since they all have feint attacks you can use those to do a easy bigger reverse backstep that follows through with an attack/roll. Just hold R2, Unlock from the target, turn the left stick 180 degrees from up to down, press circle and immediately follow with R1 (standard attack). It looks really weird when you do it correctly and since it works with the charged attack you can queue up the inputs, so to speak, so you have more time. It catches people off guard a lot, the curved swords really do well. I haven’t seen a lot of people do this, I’m halfway through the video and haven’t seen Chase do it either. Hella scary with a shield and rapier combo especially when you have shield bash as your ash of war. Charge R2 feint reverse backstep attack into the enemy followed by the shield bash ash of war is aggressive af.
