Just did the same. Thanks for the tip, so easy after struggling for 30 mins to get it to go the correct pathing. For others: There is a little ledge right below the tree branch spot in the video that you can crouch on. I didn't even do the pathing of the video for the bird, I just pulled agro and ran straight to the spot under the second branch and crouched down on the second ledge and the bird fell first try.

Helpful tip, if you go into multiplayer setting and choose SEEKERS as a group password anytime someone becomes elden lord you get a bonus to your runes like a golden foot which stacks with golden foot pair that with the gold scarab item to increase runes

It has just worked to me in my 4th attempt. The biggest secret is staying REALLY close to the cliff edge, almost falling. Otherwise the bird will turn around and hit your back

Very smart. The traditional bleed method is tricky because you don't have a delay, you just have to anticipate the proc and bolt. With this method you lay the bomb and bolt giving you a very valuable two seconds or so to get back to the grace. Well done sir.

Bro, I did everything perfectly. Killed the dragon and rode to the grace, hopped off torrent and pressed triangle to hit the grace. Instead of resting at the grace my guy just decides to do a gesture causing the dragon to fully die. Out of panic I closed app hoping it hadn’t auto saved yet. I load back in and I lost all the runes and the dragon was dead 😭

Just keep trying and it will eventually go through for you. It took a few attempts for me as well, but the cheese is definitely worth the squeeze. I ended up having to stand below the area he stood in as I accidentally fell on a ledge down there I didn't even know existed. The bird kept 1-shotting me with its ability through the root and rock. After it finally fell I had to use torrent to get back up without losing the runes. But worst case scenario, you plummet to your death if you can't make it back up, run back to the site with torrent. Bird won't be there and you can easily collect your 15k runes from the edge of the cliff and continue on with the rest of the guide shown here.

Can confirm bird of rite still works, if youre having troubles with getting hit under the tree or getting hik to fall off. Drop into that lil divot on the left crouch & keep walking into the mountain til he falls then you can jump back up. Only way i was able to do it

A trick I found to not get 1 shot by the bird is to get it to the log then crouch on the lowered ledge a little behind instead of on the wall and it will still jump on the log and fall off

The dragon farm is much easier using the poison mist at the end. It gives you more leeway to get to the grace and wait for it to die.

Confirming the bird kill still works. It took about 12 attempts and I had to out heal some damage while hiding under the tree, but just before dying the bird fell. Definitely is very precise but will work if you’re patient

TIPS FOR THE DEATHBIRD if anybody is struggling on this part here’s how I got it to work (works as of 6-4-24) you have to be patient and wait until it gets close enough to do melee attacks, then go under the second root. Learned the hard way after trying to rush it and kept getting spammed with his range attacks. Also it is possible for him to jump over the root and end up behind you. Just hold block and pray for good RNG.

For anyone who's struggling with the bird: I failed a few times and decided to try to pull him right to the edge next to the big rock to the south of the branch you sit under, if you get him to that edge by getting him to fly at you (granted you have to keep aggroing him a few times) then go under the branch it works and its much easier to retry because its shorter. (got it my second try with this method)

If you can't get the bird to kill itself you can grab the sacred blade ash of war by the portal and 2 shot him if you hit him in the head. It just melts his healthbar. Thanks for the tip on the death's poker and gets tedius using bleed weapons to kill that dragon.

If you find it hard to connect the Head with the Sacred Blade skill, try this. 1) Two hand the weapon with the Sacred Blade Ash, 2) Charge the blade (use the skill, before combat is easiest), 3) Mount Torrent, 4) Lock on to the Deathbird, 5) Continuously run at the deathbird and mash R1. The bird will melt and usually pecks at torrent not you. Carry raisins to help torrent but this usually isn't needed.

This works!! I just did this last night 4-18-24. Awesome! Excellently explained. Had some trouble with the bird and thought it was going to be a bust but he eventually fell. I think i had to do it about 5 or 6 times. There is another ledge that you can drop to just below where you crouched that helped. Regarding the dragon, I was very careful to not accidentally bonehead kill him. This was the first time I have done anything like this and you mentioned that if I messed up he would be gone forever. I had to get used to the cycle and practice, but the 9 "rounds" you explained were perfect they brought his health down enough so that the frost hit at the end slowly killed him with enough time for me to get back to the grace. Because of a comment, I took off all of my gestures so that I would not accidentally trigger one in my haste to get back to the grace. Great video! As I mentioned this is my first time with anything like this. Completely different game when there is access to unlimited runes. Thank you

I gave up trying to get the bird to fall off the cliff, so instead I skipped Stormveil and went to get Hoarfrost Stomp, made the flail Cold, so it procs frostbite and bleed. Still an upgrade on the basic Bleed method. I didn't know beforw you could exploit to respawn the dragon, and de-activating frostbite with the torch works like a charm, thank you!

Everything here all still works, decided to start a new character for the DLC release and this is the quickest way to punch out some early levels. Recommend scum saving and turning your game into offline mode while farming the dragon in case your grace is peppered with messages like mine was.

if you are struggling on the bird trust me you can get it. as of june 18th 2024 it is still possible, it took me almost an hour but i got it just keep luring him over until you get lucky enough he falls off. good luck.

Titus still with it. This saves you a lot of time not just with the farming itself but with getting a basic bleed setup. Plus the Death's Poker is legit busted for how forgiving its stat requirements are. It's no Moonveil, but the L2 R1 can be laid out in advance since it stays for a few seconds, can hit multiple enemies, and that flame reset can be abused the whole game, not just with the farm.

You can also get 3 additional gold pickled fowl feet from patches or the twin maiden husks if you killed him and have his bell bearing. You can also get the gold scarab which boosts rune gathering by 20% easily and if you killed Margit and have 2 talismans slots or if you already base meet the requirements for the deaths poker anyway (so no Radagon sorseal) you can use it to buff runes and its stacks with the gold feet (in total with both it would be a 50% rune bonus (so 75k per kill)

I’d also add when you run across the bridge in Calid you can instead hang a left and sit at the lennes rise site of grace and kill the night rider for 42k souls then hop up on top and loot the graveyard just before fort faroth only adding 2-3 minutes

You can get the talisman to get 20% more runes easily, get the wolves ashes from ranni the run through the tombs run in pick up the herb (you need to upgrade wolves) then leave, go to the tomb in weeping peninsula just south of the avatar for herb 1&2 (if i remember correctly) then the in west side of caelid next to the herd tree avatar . then go to the catacombs directly west of the great bridge in caelid for the rest. Speak to the woman who gives jellyfish summon then use the path at the side of the castle to get to liurnia. This will force her to move to round table hold, go there exhaust her dialogue then lvl ur wolves to lvl 5 (6 if u can) then go to merchant near caelid swamp buy some bolusses to cure scarlet rot n go to the cave where you get the talisman from (cant remember what its called but its in caelid). Sprint through ignore everythin. Buff what you can go in summon your wolves, theyll take all the aggro n you can atk. Be mindful of the second 1 spawning but the first should be dead by then. Not sure if it still works since i havnt played in a while but i did it with a level 1 wretch and a club with no armour, just the flask and the lvl 5 wolves, and if you do it too, you just got a 20% increase in runes gg quick noe: Ithink imissed a tomb, ithe the 1 in caelid gives 5&6 you get the 4 from somewhere else. Either that or if you run through far enough you can get the 4/5and 6 from there, but like i said its a while since ive done it, but since i did it the first time, i did it with every character i started.

Another glitch that you can use is in fort faroth using Uchigatana you will low the white dragon life’s hitting in the tail when he dies you go to the Site of grace and sit there he will respawn and you will get 50k runes

The death bird got me raged because he wouldn't just straight chase me instead circling backwards and forwards then later when it's at the edge, the smash attack always hit me, almost killing me in the process but eventually after 5 or so run i did it. The hardest part is killing greyoll lol. Always fcked up the torch swap. I instead going for a 2nd RB/R1 after the frostbite explosion. But it's legit. This farm strats by far is the best early farm method. Kudos to the player who found this method. Gbu

tried on convergence mod, torrent got stuck and took too long to get to the grace, which is also farther away and up some stairs, and lost the dragon. make sure to step away from the dragon b4 mounting. this was on a higher lvl char too, but managed to kill the death bird in 3 sacred blade attacks. just saying that the death touch method still works on convergence mod and fort faroth is totally different, longer, and more fun inside, among hundreds of other changes and QoL mods. it's free.
