Awesome build! One trick I sometimes use to get the glue to be less slippery is sprinkle on a little bit of salt to the glue. It helps keep it in place. Hope this helps!

Thats awesome man! I've always wanted to be a luthier. I have a rich relative who was going to pay my way through luthier school but he talked me out of it to go to college for something that could be more profitable instead. But I was never passionate about that so it didn't really work out and now 20 years later I still wish I had gone to luthier school. If I had the $ for all the tools and supplies then I would build guitars now, even without training. If you have a job doing something you like, you're doing better than most. Even if it won't make you a millionaire. Keep it up man! You're living my dream

gluing tip: you can add salt to the applied glue to avoid slipping parts. Love your work!

You could use a tiny bit of salt to prevent a glue-up from slipping. I've personally never used it before, but seen some pro's use it. The place where the salt is, the glue will be less effective. So only use a tiny amount.

To address the slipping of the maple top, adding a sprinkle of salt to the glue will help with the glued parts from slipping.

Layer electrical tape in with your masking tape and it should keep the stain from getting to the wood..... this is a beautiful build.

Nice build man! A suggestion when glueing the maple top in order to avoid slipping: firstly glue your bookmatched boards together first, while they are still rectangular (easier to clamp or place in glueing jig). Secondly would be to use the same dowell technique you used at other stages, but hide the dowells in the spaces where the pickups will be located. The dowells will be routed away once the pickup routs are done
