Wish all the “before” panels were with the 12 Dex baseline to better see the effect. This is also useful at least to see what Dex breakpoints seem to be actually shaving a frame or two off the cast time.

This video isn't helpful at all. You don't do before and after in increments of 1. That displays nothing. You compare it to big jumps. Start at the base 12, then go up to 20, then 30, then 40 etc and you still compare those to 12 each time.

I disagree, seeing each indivual break point is very helpful. Comparing 12 each time doesn't show me exactly when it gets faster as thats harder to tell than just "is it faster than 12?". Of course it will be. Doing it his way and showing the end result sounds great to me.

I was thinking the same thing lol. I want to see "should I respec from 12 to 40?" Or is it a waste. I don't need to see the difference between 22 and 23 lol. Of course that's a small difference.

To anybody using incantations: many of them are slower to cast, so boosting DEX a little makes a pretty big difference.

There is definitely a noticeable difference between 12 and 28

It is more noticeable on slower spells. Pebble is already a fast spell

Unless you you running a Dex/Int or Dex/Faith build to maximise weapon AR, pumping dex past 30 purely for cast speed isn't usually worth it for a pure caster build. If you going full caster, just equip Radagon Icon, it gives you casting speed equivalent of having around +69 dex. But whatever you do, I DO NOT recommend the Beloved Stardust DLC talisman, no amount of casting speed is worth -30% damage absorption.

For all these "scientific method" enthusiasts. Dexterity never made a giant in casting speed increase per lvl, yet reaching casting speed cap can make a life and death difference, especially in pvp. Example: there is 1 thing called "true combo" it means that landing one attack guarantees another. In DS3 there were spells like greatsword or old moonlight. You could true combo them after landing a light attack from various melee weapons. I could not perform a true combo at 45 dex, but it was not a problem at 50 dex (casting speed cap). Difference was not noticeable by a human eye, yet it was important to keep casting speed cap. I guess I shouldn't explain that landing a second powerfull attack is a great advantage in pvp.

it wasn't pointless for me, im trying to fit in dex in my lvl 150 build and i have to take points out from every stat to get to a casting speed i feel comfortable with and with the spells im using.

I invested in faith, and incantations are much slower so the dex made a big difference. Pebble is already very fast so it doesn't improve much.

You are absolutely correct. This is the second video I've seen on this subject, and both used Glintstone Pebble. Makes a small difference. Now try it with the incantation Heal. Even going from 12 DEX to 20 DEX, the difference is HUGE.

Wow I can REALLY see a difference between a cast speed between 105% and 106% but if you ask me you can REALLY see a difference once it goes from 107% to 108% cast speed. Thanks OP for uploading the differences in 1% increments. We can REALLY see a difference. Especially when you get to high levels and get diminishing returns to the higher up you go the small the difference becomes between each level up EVEN THOUGH each example is fast than before. Truly bravo

You are using a spell that can't get faster, use rock throw or something that takes longer than the animation to cast.

I wonder how Dex levels compare to the Radagon Icon Talisman, because at some point 1 talisman slot being the same as an effective number of levels makes it more efficient to use the talisman

Radagon is around a 10% increase in cast speed. It's worth a butt load of dex, and definitely worth a slot if you're PVPing. I'm not sure how good it is if you already have 60-80 dex, though 🤔
