Another op mechanic: Some palyers might know you can use Margit's Shackle to remove nearby illusory walls, hit flame thrower traps in dungeons from a distance and get rid of those annoying chariots. Now with the DLC they added (at least) 2 new things you can hit with Margit's Shackle. Those pots 3:13 hanging from the wall and sealed spirit springs. This way you don't have to switch to a bow to hit the pot and you won't have to go look for the pile of rocks to activate the spirit spring. Just use the shackle next to the spirit spring and you are most likely gonna be in range to hit the seal.

This might seem like an obvious thing but if anyone has problems fighting mobs in DLC, stormcaller is a lifesaver. more so if you have high FP/stam to work with and if you have bleed procs on your weapon (even if you're a purely non melee player slapping this AOW on like a +20 uchigatana if you meet the requirements if not any blood infused curvedsword, axe, hammer, katana works really well too). From Bloodfiends to the curseblades, pests, scorpions, bats, birds, dogs ,imps ,bears ,skeletons , fire knights, even the messmer soldiers with greatshields and greathammer, and every single NPC boss fight/NPC invasion. none of them can poise through stormcaller and get infinitely micro staggered. the only mobs that can't be microstaggered are obviously the horned warriors. shielded guards also can't guard counter stormcaller because it hits too quickly for them to get a breathing room. you can proc millicent's prosthesis and both sword insignias with it too. the hit box of this thing after pretty much doing the whole DLC with it still surprises me to this day. Just make sure you have good poise if you want to go full spam mode with it.

Not sure if it's been made widely known yet, but another dps increase you can do is inflict yourself with the Lulling Branch before a fight, similar to using Fetid Pots to causing poison on yourself. Once the Sleep status procs, St. Trina's Smile will give a damage boost similar to Lord of Blood's Exultation or Kindred of Rot's Exultation. I could see a prebuff strat that uses all three of those plus Shriek of Sorrow to get at least *some* uptime on a whole bunch of ~20% buffs

If you rest and stand up while the fire animation is still playing on the bridge it will also kill the respawned enemies, essentially 2xing the rune farm! You’ll need to rerest after this though cause you’ll get the runes from the respawned enemies but they won’t actually die and you won’t get runes from them again until you rest again.
@RelativelyBest2 ай бұрын
You actually have to do that, otherwise you're better off farming the bird at Mohg's place. If you do the two-for-one thing consistently, this rune farm is marginally faster than the bird by, I'd say, maybe five thousand runes per minute and it's easier than having to shoot the bird over and over. Of course, if you have the Sacred Relic Sword, the albinauric farm is still way more efficient regardless.

So in my testing for the Flower Blooms twice: using it on a poisoned, badly poisoned, rotten(from weapon), or badly rotten (from spell) enemy remove the all applied poisons and deal 5% of max HP damage. So its good to get talisman and hat that get attack boost if someone is poisoned nearby and apply / reapply poison with this AoW What is not good. Using rotten dragon breath or Scarlet Aeonia spells and then remove strong rot from enemy using this AoW.
@synthraofficial53663 ай бұрын
There's actually a ash of war called poison moth flight that is similar to poison flower blooms twice! It doesn't do rot. Instead it does poison exclusively. It's a slash attack but it has a similar detonation mechanic. The two are both boosted by the same talismans so they would go perfectly together. I've been putting together a build using them both for a few days now!

I didn't know about jumping for the most part (just against Hoarah Loux which is the one encounter pre-DLC that seems to try to teach jumping) so ended up using the Fingerprint shield vs my first Furnace Golem. So, the thing about additive percentages is that they get proportionally stronger the more base reduction you already have. If you want to halve the damage you take (so that it takes twice as many hits to kill you), you need 50% damage reduction so from 0-50% that is +50%. If you want to halve the damage you take again (so it takes in total four times as many hits to kill you) you need 75% damage reduction, or +25%. That second +25% is just as powerful as the first +50% because it's additive. This is different from multiplicative reduction where you would've needed another *50% reduction. So if these scadutree reductions are additive, you get an insane bonus from levels 11 and 12 compared to the rest (going by the table shown) but those reductions after are far from insignificant. in fact if they are additive, that means that the more base reduction you have, the better scadutree blessing becomes.

The 'Rot Dive' Ashe rapidly became one of my more favored ashes, specifically putting on the Venomous Fang is really nice. You can use it as a gap closer to proc scarlet rot, then slap a target around to get the poison procced on it to. Se the Rot fall off at any point? Time to kick during the last seconds of the poison to get super bonus damage and start the chain over again. Or, if the target is squishy, just proc deadly poison and kick whenever there's an opening with Kindred of Rot's Exultation for continual bonus damage. One could even not make the claws poison with this strat and function entirely off of the 30 second deadly poison on a quality weapon buffed with a grease or a spell. It's versatile, feels good to have access to, and makes poison actually fun to use in a build.

The point about the scadutree fragements is interesting. I didn't know it was true, but I assumed it was true. The reason is that From usually does this with findable upgrades. For example, the DS 3 estus upgrades (healing power per flask, not number of flasks) work very similarly. The upgrade in healing you get from the first upgrade is larger than the last 6 (of 10 total) combined! Soul drops follow a similar power curve, but inverted. This is why you never have to really stress about losing souls to death - the game ensures you can catch up through the larger soul drops as you progress the game (and each upgrade takes successively more material).
@iamamishАй бұрын
slight correction - I went and double-checked. The first estus upgrade takes your flask from 250 hp healing to 335 hp - an increase of 85 hp. The last 6 upgrades combined *also* increase your flasks' healing power by 85 hp - from 515 to 600.

My first kill of the final boss made use of PFBT in a pretty perfect way if I do say so myself. I put it on the Antspur Rapier with a poison infusion. By the time poison procs with lights or heavies, the rot buildup from the AoE will usually be enough to trigger it. So big dmg burst from removing poison and now he’s rotted so you can do it again for more dmg and repeat the cycle. P.S. you can slip rolling r1s in between some of his combos for keeping the buildup pressure on.

Note: The furnace golem bridge rune farm is only marginally faster than farming the bird at Mogh's place, the main appeal being that it's easier. Farming the albinaurics with the Sacred Relic Sword is still way better, so the golem bridge is mostly viable if you're playing through the DLC before beating the base game. Also, you _have_ to rest at the right time so that the fire whirl kills double the enemies every time, since that's the only thing making this method better than the bird.

Shard Spiral is the cheese for furnace golems. I used it to kill every unarmored golems, and each fight took like a minute or less to kill.
