Elden Ring OST Extension: Romania, Saint of the Bud / Trailer OST (Read Description)

UPDATE: This is who the theme actually belongs to apparently. I wont be able to edit Messmer out of the video but just know that this theme belongs to a different looking boss :).
This was more of a side project for me to help practice my editing.

We have confirmation that this was in fact NOT Messmer's theme but was Romania's, sorry in advance for spoilers but someone asked me to update it. Edit: Also if anybody is confused, this audio was taken from the DCL story trailer and had it's voice lines removed for the ost only so this is not in game music but rather from the story trailer.

Considering bro is already the hype of this DLC, and this soundtrack if it’s for real his them in game, I have no doubt he will be. I’m excited to see what his phase 2 and maybe even 3 are gonna be though 👀

Like from the looks of it, he seems like a devious and has a “laidback” nature with honor and style but maybe he will do something like Malenia where he completely transforms into something else

The new Mesmer theme gave me the same feels to listening to Godfrey’s theme for the first time, especially at 0:29 when I was like “Wait, this sounded like Godfrey’s theme”. Also I am imagining one of Messmer’s Phases to be somewhat like a dance-like exchange similar to Godfrey, Phase 1 Mohg or Maliketh (Especially Godfrey considering how the song’s rhythm plays similarly to Godfrey’s theme).

​@@Noizzed I've looked into it, it might be possible but it would not sound very good, the way the audio was edited to cut out voices really deafens most of the soundtrack, I did Messmer's because there were less voice lines and it wasn't as muffled. Maybe when the real deal arrives I'll make an extension for us. And there is not long to wait anyhow, less than a month away man I'm hyped!

hell of a rogue call here as I've not seen it said... I think this is a misdirect, the FS composer team are always SUPER deliberate with their instrument choices and that organ... there's to my knowledge only 1 other ER boss which featured an organ in it's OST and that was Fortissax. We've heard Messmer's theme in an earlier trailer I reckon, but this theme will be Godwyn, Prince of Death’s. To me the coiling tree surrounding the ScaduTree has to be the true form of Deathroot taking root and if that is the case Godwyn HAS to show up. *edited for my terrible spelling*

That definitely would make sense. This song has that sort of knightly and royal sound to it. It has that sort of tone and melody that sounds sad yet with rage and at the end of the line. Something similar to Godfrey where they appear after being gone. After all, Goldwyn was the first demigod to die and Godfrey was the first Elden lord (to die).

You also have to account for Messmer most likely being a multi-phase fight, meaning that he'll most likely as a result, have multiple themes during the fight itself. There's a possibility that this song, AND the song that plays in the gameplay trailer are BOTH associated with him, they just play at completely different times based on what phase he is at currently. Which song belongs to which phase? No clue, we'll have to find out in a few days from now, but personally speaking, i want THIS to be his 2nd phase song. Fromsoft has often made it a natural progression that boss songs start really tame and become more elaborate and intense by the time second phase rolls around, i want this to be the opposite, start off strong already with a phase 1 that's fast and over the top, and then go for something slower but way more dramatic as the phase 2. Not many souls fights take this sort of progression, so if Messmer were to do that as well, it'd make him an incredibly unique fight thematically and i really, REALLY hope that's the case.

Wild theory of mine, but I think that Messmer might have been either abandoned or banished/exiled by Marika due to the horrific atrocities he committed in the Realm of Shadow? My only supporting theories is that there's a line in the trailer that says "A purge without grace or honor." And his connection to snakes is usually related to like, heresy or blasphemy as we see from Rykard. So whatever he did was probably so awful that any record or mention of Messmer in the Lands Between is basically nonexistent. Also he might have some kind of connection to Melina? They both have one of their eyes sealed shut. I'm so curious about that...

If you're talking about the beginning ost of the second DLC trailer, it would not sound that great as the audio would be muffled a bunch due to the voicelines being muted out of the ost.
