I remember fighting Rennala for the first time when she casted her full moon spell and I just kept staring My thoughts were: "Is that a moon?" to "Is it moving?" to "Is it coming towards me?" to "Did it explode?" to finally "Did I just die?"

I just noticed. First phase of the boss fight we see Rennala’s eyes are gold. Then in the second phase her eyes are a silvery blue. This is speculation but first phase we see Rennala possibly fallen into the influence of the golden order. While second phase shows herself as a whole being.

On my 1st play through and am using a melee/strength build. I HANDLED this boss by using wolf ashes & staying up in her face with +7hookclaws. The knight guarding the library however? Took me probably 25/30 tries

In most encounters I'm really happy I play an Astrologer. Night cometed the living Jesus out of the knight on my 3rd try. I always use dark spells against red names. I did do it around level 95 though since I'd been rampaging around scarlet rot region as soon as I cleared other pre Margit zones. And the three giant swords came in handy when he got close. Rennala was the first demigod boss I had trouble with though. It was a good challenge.

You are very kind for not indiscriminately killing all of Rennala's students like the vast majority of players do, but instead you just hit them without killing them and only kill them if you have no choice. Apparently they are all young women, and because they are constantly being reborn they are They all look the same and they are all affected physically and mentally. These girls are one of the most forgotten NPCs in the game but they are the ones that make me the most curious, it's a real shame that after the first phase they just disappear since they have no other function. Since Rennala is the only boss who doesn't die after you beat her, and since she's not mentally well, I would have loved to find a sane student next to her or in some other part of the academy, one with this model of NPC and who explains to us the story of how they ended up locked up there and tell us why they continue to support the queen of the moon despite the fact that she is no longer in her power to continue being the director. These NPCs have a very tender and cute face, worthy of the treatment of children that renala gives them. It's a pity that there aren't any Rennala students who can speak to us one who use this NPC model of course.

When I got to this boss doing the Ranni's quest line, something goes throught all my nerves and made me realize that, again, Japan did one of the best games in every aspect since The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Breath of the Wild set a new quality hope for open world games. And Bandai Namco/From Software reach, at their own way, same or even best quality in their artistic aspect. Thanks.
