Marika sending away Godfrey in my opinion is largely misunderstood. In my opinion she sent him away because he was the only one she could trust to struggle outside of grace and come back even stronger. Godfrey and his tarnished descendants would be the ones best suited for such a struggle. So it was through this trust that she felt he was the only one she knew that could face such hardship.

And then there's Messmer. Literally crusaded an entire race of people for Marika and then was abandoned and locked within the Shadow Lands because the darkness of the Abyssal Serpent could corrupt his soul and his flame could burn the Erdtree just like the Fire Giants.

29:32 no, that was almost certainly not what happened, basically everything in the game points to the opposite with her having zero involvement in Godwyn's death, why would she be so sad about the death of the son she herself planned to kill to the point of her tearing the Elden Ring apart for this?

Yeah, I think Miyazaki just included slight connections about the Black Knife Assassin’s lineage being tied to Marika’s lineage, further reinforcing ties between them. But I think it’s mainly to drive conversation and interpretation than it is being actually a hint towards Marika’s involvement. We already pretty much knew from the basegame why she wouldn’t harm Godwyn. But the DLC further reinforced to us that Marika is a particularly tragic figure with actual emotions, who sincerely seeks to mother children without giving them the burden of her curse. Which is why Godwyn’s death would’ve been particularly heartbreaking for her, seeing as how he was probably the only child with no curse

so some things that are wrong in this video mainly because it is dated: The greater will is not an outer god and is in fact much more likely the "supreme" god of this universe Life began with the GW, we have a very clear notion that it was the GW responsible for creating life there are no gods older than the GW as it was probably here since the beginning of everything, these other gods and factions are older than the golden order and the erdtree which are not direct creations of the GW and in fact are just one of many configurations of order over the world sanctioned by the GW (the very fact that fingers are the only beings capable of selecting empyreans proves that the existence of earthly gods can only exist under the influence of the GW) And Marika is not a goddess because she is the vessel of the elden ring, she is the vessel of the elden ring because she is a goddess, it was not becoming the vessel of the ring that made her a goddess but what happened was the exact opposite, an empyrean can ascend to godhood completely independent of the elden ring

The video i think you should check out the most is the Age Of Stars video by Vaati. It's amzing and very cinematic but if you wanna go in order you should probably go in release order since it gives you the most information in "Order"

This is the very basic information and some of it has changed as time has gone on. But you gotta watch some videos from Smough Town he also does amazing lore videos. I would say Vaati is more on the cinematic side of things while Smough Town is more on the information side
