Taking this build into a NG+ cycle allows you to use both Rotten Winged Sword Talisman and Millicent's Prosthesis, which when combined with the Thorny Cracked Tear causes your regular R1 spam to deal IMMENSE damage per second. You can further the effectiveness of this by using the Godskin's Swaddling Cloth talisman to restore HP with successive attacks (and Malenia's Great Rune if you like) to let you effectively trade hits without worrying much about your health pool.

Something to consider: For 80 STR go Heavy Star Fist. AR 508 - Bleed 45. Ignore the bleed aspect, go straight to Cragblade. If you want to focus on bleed using a Fist weapon, this is a more optimal set up: 80 ARC go Occult Spiked Caestus. AR 455 - Bleed 88. 3% less physical damage but more bleed procs which add more than 3% phys dmg. Still use Cragblade for the stance break. The Flame buff looks cool, but it's just "helping the bleed proc" of an already mediocre base bleed weapon that's better at Stance breaking and phys damage (Star Fist). Also, get a high HP mob and test the following (with and without Talisman) - Stance break then riposte dmg - Stance break then aviod ripost and just keep hitting the mob I've noticed you get more damage dealt to the boss when avoiding the riposte animation and just keep hitting it.

Amazing build, love it! The damage is insane as well as stance break. For those having problem with Flaming Strike, there is two things, first the actual LT (Skill) that spreads fire and then an immediate follow up with RT (Heavy Attack). Also combine Blue Dancer with Axe Talisman for best damage.

I don't know if anyone can give me some advice here, but the Malenia strat in this video is not working for me. I've just done 15 or 20 tries, and every single attempt, she either dodges the follow-up charge attack or poises through it with hyper armor. I've not yet been able to string together 2 charges and a riposte more than once per fight. Haven't gotten out of phase 1 yet, because this build also just dies to Waterfowl if it's not at full Vigor (60)

Use the ash of war, then immediately use your heavy. You’ll do another attack and your fists will ignite for a bit.

Yeah, honestly I made a giant's flame, Strength/Faith build a couple months back. I use the spiked Cestus as an alt weapon with flaming strike. Even with unoptimized stats It's an insane weapon.

Thanks for sharing! For those that don't want to bother with the Caestus and the relatively temporary fire setup, you can just grab the Morning Star from the carriage in Weeping Peninsula near Irina, and then get Cragblade right away. It's a more straightforward transition to the star fists, and lets you put on a shield to guard counter the fuck out of everyone. The Morning Star has Bleed buildup too, so you can farm the dragon with it as well :D

nice guide! tho, for the start, when you need runes, it's factually better to go to lenne's rise: if you go left instead of the bridge, at the end spawns a rolling ball that's easier to dodge and nets 2k runes each time you dodge it to the cliiff

I don't know what witchcraft or luck or how many attempts to fish for good RNG you had on Malenia here, but I'm going at her with everything possible to maximize my stance damage and she shrugs off 3-4 charged heavies with Star Fist, when she's not jumping and strafing out of my reach. And no I'm not going too long between hits for her stance to regen.
