lol same man. I want to go full blind and I don’t feel anything was spoiled for me by just listening. The hype is off the charts for me!!! This is a very similar feeling I had before Skyrim got launched many years ago, but to be honest I’m completely more excited for this than any game ever in my life. This is truly legendary and historic times we’re living in. Feeling so blessed to live in a timeline I can experience this game fresh or at all. I feel this will go down as the best game ever made when all is said and done. For me it’s just been true love to play and pour myself into. It’s helped so much with my anxiety and depression. The manga original ending theory. The Elden ring dlc ending sucks and is underwhelming according to leaks and reviews. Adult Miquella the hyped up character simply sits on radahn during the final duo boss battle. Also the final boss battle is reskinned radahn. However there is hope. Elden ring has an ongoing manga called road to erdtree . The manga could give us an original ending to the dlc which is better than the original dlc trash ending. Me when I heard the leaks: No I don’t want that radahn being the final boss, I want fromsoftware to make good games all their existence for 10 years at least.

It does help that From Soft releases same type of game every time (with Sekiro being the only outlier), if they never changed UI and game's title you would be able to tell difference between DS/DS2/DS3/BB/DeS/ER. All of the NPCs are gone with the exception of Hornset Gandam, and her ass is sleep...I thought there would be a secret boss at Shaman Village. I don't feel that sense of completion

Something quick about weapons and items for builds. While I was playing this DLC, I still haven't beaten the very last legacy dungeon but I was finding about 50% of everything I picked up scaling with Faith, so Faith builds are going to have an absolute feast, and the inverse happened to me where I was using a strength and dexterity quality build and was suffering from a famine of weapons I could use other than basic smithing weapons like the Milady. Intelligence seems to have been somewhat neglected but they do have a few new notable minor sorceries, and one major one that I saw costing 72 INT. Strength builds will find weapons to use pretty early, but again faith builds tend to get the majority of the boss weapons, so STR builds are limited to about two bosses that they can get things from, stuff they find in the world and smithing weapons. Arcane has some notable expansions upon their builds, especially the Dragon Communion for which they will be extremely excited for. Dexterity seems to have no shortage of smithing weapons to use, and they'll be happy to know that the katana class of weapons have gotten a massive influx of new items, and a brand new tier as well. I'm for the most part satisfied with my quality build playthrough, because it means I fought bosses head on, sword and shield, in order to learn and memorize their movesets. Messmer is by far one of my favorites so far, with another contender being the boss at the top of the crag mountain in the DLC, though I haven't finished the last legacy dungeon so favorite boss is still up in the air.

I started it with a character that was at the end of the game with Morgott's Cursed Sword basically because you get that sword close to the end of the game, and thus I haven't had a chance to use it much. I genuinely think this DLC is not good, and in no way can someone be genuinely critical of their favorite IPs and see this as good. It’s okay but it leaves a lot to be desired in every respect, it feels so disjointed and seperate from both its own story and the broader story of Elden Ring. The fact there is obviously so much content that was cut out is really unfortunate, it feels like a rushed product and it feels difficult just to be difficult. So many bosses lack the back and forth we’ve come to expect as souls fans and it’s honestly disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it for 40 bucks in the context of what we’ve seen From produce for 15. The Ringed City DLC, while being smaller, offered a far more interesting, cohesive, and fulfilling experience than Shadow of the Erdtree does.

@@Odiseusthelegend I think the exploration is worse than the base game, so many areas are genuinely like completely empty and devoid of anything rewarding or special but you’re forced to explore because maybe there will be a scadutree fragment around the next corner. So many areas feel just there for the sake of being pretty rather than having an actual purpose, and it really creates this huge divide between those areas and the areas that are full of so many cool things. The bosses and enemies are a tad overtuned, and I feel like some of the bosses are just hard to be hard. Messmer is the goat tho.

Words can not explain how hyped I am. I watched this review and gameranx' review and it truly sounds like what I expected; Elden Ring 1.5. I have my level 300 character ready at Mohg and I'm working on a new character that is now at level 86. I plan on playing with my high level character first first and then continuing to get to the DLC with my other character. I'm expecting to play atleast another 50-100 hours. I also hope they add more achievements. I got all base game achievements and I would love to grind more of those. I already played Elden Ring for about 200 hours total. It's the game that keeps giving and the replayability is probably the best out of any game ever. Man I wish it was friday

Have to disagree with you about the musical score. Stone Coffin Fissure, Scadu Altus, Dancing Lion and Rellana’s themes are all some of the best Elden Ring tracks I’ve heard so far (including the base game) and I haven’t even finished the DLC!

I genuinely don't get the hate Fextralife gets in the souls community. The love these people show for these games and the depth they go into for their analysis is truly beautiful. Also genuinely worried that Fromsoft will soon be the last game dev not treating their players like scum. They deserve every accolade and bit of praise they find. What an honor to exist and be playing games during this time when they get to make such incredible things. I"m beyond ready for this DLC.

Can we all please appreciate how down to earth an realistic myazaki and his team is? No other company would understate their product like from does. Imagine ubisoft would tease it. Great review man. Picking erdtree up late as been busy with other games and it feels so good getting into elden ring again. It's one of those games like BG3 which is almost perfect, it's timeless and always an amazing experience. The amount of content for 40 puts the big AAA publishers to shame.

I was hoping that this dlc would bring some more endings to the game, like something different involving Melina when you use the flame of frenzy to light the flame of the giants and heal yourself using Miquella's needle before finishing the game, or maybe make Malenia ally with you in some way since SUPPOSEDLY you will be helping Miquella in this DLC, but from what they said, none of this DLC affects the base game ;-;
