This is why I'm really excited for the seamless co-op mod that's on its way. Shared progression, no invasions, no barriers (even do the tutorial together if you want), and you and your buddies can all ride your horses! It solves all the co-op issues this game has.

@@dronionmonkey that's totally fair. Though I really feel I've spent far less with a pc than I did when I used to buy consoles. I upgrade my components less often than new consoles release, and games themselves are so much cheaper overall. It's easy to find deep discounts on PC games that you just don't see on consoles.

My wife and I live and breathe co-op games. The info in this video was very helpful, and thorough. We've played through all the other souls games together, and we're pretty sick of all the hoops we have to jump through to play together. I'm still on the fence about Elden Ring for that reason. I was hoping for a much more updated way to play together in a game series that's been around this long. This is, by far, the best info I've found on its co-op experience yet. Thanks!

Not sure if you already started but I played it in coop with a friend and would say it's one of the easiest souls to play in coop since the coop items are very easy to get compared to the other souls

Same but we haven't found many that are really good. Stardew Valley is awesome, but cut scenes occur in real time. Valheim is freaking AWESOME coop.

I feel FromSoftware has the potential to make a truly amazing co-op game in the future with all the systems they have built. Co-op always seems like an afterthought in Souls games. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. I don’t think its addition takes away anything from the games. If they decide to make it a major priority in an upcoming game, I may just get to finally play the co-op rpg I’ve always dreamed of.

I really cant complain, me and my bro pretty much helped each other throughout the entire story. There were times where we were in boss fights and one of us would disconnect. Another thing I wish they fixed is the fact that they go back to their world once they help you defeat a boss and I wish they could stay for longer. But other than that like I said I really cant complain

The COOP system definitely could be patch to be more stable. But ever since I watch a modder who's project is to make a fully COOP MOD system without the EAC running. I'll just wait for that mod and get my casual mates to play the game.

Yes, you have to have the required items everytime, but like we said, it wasn’t an issue for us

Yes, no shared progression. Not something they’re going to change but there is a PC Mod that allows it

Elden ring seems too easy to be a challenge in co-op. Not for all the bosses but the normal gameplay.

Yeah that’s fair, most of the overworld enemies are pretty easy but there’s definitely some bigger enemies that pose a challenge even in co-op

Co-op for this game was completely and irrevocably broken for ~1-2 months on launch and did not work for an entire platform.

The co-op on this game was awful, I play on Xbox... wanted to play 2p and you had to jump through hoops just for your buddy to join.... once you finally worked out how to get a 2p mode going, you quickly realise that the 2p guy is just a helper and gets shafted. Finally you get rando's on a higher level attacking you every 2 seconds for literally no reason.... its soooo bad

If a modder can create a perfect coop experience than its clear it shouldn't be hard for From either. Its just their design choice and frankly, its a waste of potential.

I never played a souls game til this game and my friend and I bought to play together and to be honest this game has the worst co op system I've ever seen that fact you have to be resummoned everytime you want to rest or when u want to enter a dungeon together everytime u have to be resummoned its just kina dumb and the finger items are dumb too complicated took me and my my buddie an hour to figure and u can't summon your horse while co op so it takes for ever to get place to place on foot while co op. This game is perfect besides the co op it's way more complicated then it needs to be. 9/10 Game

This game sucks, why is it? Things can kill you through a wall, but you can't do that to them. Why is it when you hit something with a perfumer bolt? It does no damage yet. When you get hit with a perfumer bolt, it does a lot of damage. And I'm gonna keep going on about it.
