Ancient dragons have low poise but fast regeneration, so you have to keep hitting them constantly to break their stance. Fire giant is too slow to do that.

Some channels (such as BjornTheBear) deliberately choose permutations in which certain bosses do well (Godfrey, Placidusax and Radahn in particular- a friend of mine did some tests, for instance on Maliketh vs Godfrey). Some (like this one) twist stats around in the background- palpably apparent in the Misbegotten video- and have weird AI behaviours. I liked Nameless Ring because it seemed largely reliable (though maybe not the DS3 ports). But ultimately it's about watching a fun battle so I don't mind too much, except when it becomes a consistent pattern like with Fire Giant here.

@@Count.Saruman Finally someone else notices bjorn's boner for godfrey and placi lmao. The sole reason people believe Fodderfrey compares to/is 50-50 against maliketh is because of bjorn .And no, nameless ring is hands down the most reliable content creator , along with this guy (although I rage everytime he places maliketh outside his arena , or "spawns " him over the boss's attack which leads to his loss). Godfrey performs very poorly against opponents with high poise, which is most challengers here, and he is a overall much worse performer than all endgame bosses. All strong bosses have one or more of 3 factors 1) massive damage 2) massive healthpool 3) highly evasive moveset. Godfrey doesn't have any of these , instead relying on not letting the opponent attack at all with poise breaks. However, the moment you give a opponent with even moderate dps very high poise, he gets folded instantly. Same against ganks where atleast one of the above 3 factors are needed to perform well. About Ds3 ports , I'm hoping you are not relying on the chaos silver moon channel, which is even more biased( for eg you'll notice maliketh has suspiciously bad rng in all his vids - check the maliketh vs midir vid, where mali's ai breaks aggro repeatedly- when spmeone asked him to redo maliketh vs midir in maliketh's arena on a recent vid, you should have seen his absurd reply- he said maliketh is supposed to be a close combat fighter lmao.) and him scaling bosses , increaasing their damage and health, while keeping their ridiculous poise damage .

​​@@helljoe3870Oh, no, not relying on Chaos Silver Moon after the Midir fiasco, where he was buffed randomly in every which way to beat Malenia. The reason I call Nameless Ring's DS3 ports unreliable is because of the Friede video, in which first the damage seemed wonky, and second, she had her total health from all three phases on her third. The same is seen for the Yhorm video, in which his damage resistances are inconsistent (for example he has negative 80 resistance to lightning, but the Placidusax fight doesn't reflect that. For another example, Radagon's bolts deal suspiciously low damage, leading me to suspect that Yhorm's 60% dark resistance has been changed to holy resistance in the background). This one is generally ok, but there are some problems (particularly with Maliketh...) and the Fire Giant is always suspiciously effective because he keeps reusing attacks (such as the roll) that he isn't supposed to.

Bernie probably is the strongest NPC. His stats are inflated to hell and back, his armor set has great numbers, and he doesn't have a lot of spells to goof around with. Reminds me of Havel Knight. His only weakness is his weapon skill. That thing may be a great heal, but it takes forever and it must have negative hyper armor. He's much better off just bonking and chugging.

Let’s be honest, Maliketh loses more than he wins (at least on this channel) and I'm pretty sure he would’ve lost here if he faced any opponent other than the Fire giant. Unlike Malenia, his fights are unpredictable due to his 1 HP and 0 poise, so he can lose to any opponent deals high poise damage (most of the time).
