It's pretty pathetic that modders that are working for free are making MUCH better content than a AAA game studio. And let me just be clear, I am NOT including the generally bad to average Creation Club paid content when I speak of modders. When it comes to Creation Club, you figure that paid content would be wayyy better than the free stuff. But you couldn't be more wrong if you thought that. Just look at Enderal. As much as I love Skyrim, Enderal just puts Skyrim to shame in terms of writing, design, and mechanics. Then you have modders like SimonMagnus that by using fairly easy tweaks, make Skyrim a TON better. BGS should be embarrassed.

IMO the first biggest issue Bethesda needs to change is this awful “one size fits all” approach with the creation engine. They use the same engine to make all of their RPG games. They delayed Starfield to finish upgrading their engine to Creation 2.0. It was a great idea for a new IP, but it came with quite possibly the worst execution imaginable. Some of that has to do with engine limitations. It’s obvious BGS wants their own in-house Unreal Engine or something, but it doesn’t work. I came across an old PowerPoint a few months ago that outlined the development plan for the first Fable game. The developers that made the Fable games were pioneers in the industry- they practically created the blueprint for a making better 3D worlds. Along with explaining their ideas of how to build atmosphere, make use of LODs, how to apply textures more effectively, etc, this PowerPoint tells me they basically made the game backwards from the standard development process. They figured out they wanted the game to be, then made a custom engine to support the game they wanted to make. The standard, still to this day, remains as designing a game within a preexisting engine. That means the game is essentially held back by the limitations of the engine used to make the game. So to me, it almost alludes that Starfield was meant to be more than it is but was possibly limited by what Creation 2 is capable of. Assuming that is the case… that would mean that when Bethesda delayed Starfield for Creation 2, it wasn’t because Creation 2 was being designed for Starfield to be the game it needed to be- it was because Bethesda just wanted an upgraded “cookie cutter” engine for all foreseeable future projects (to include Starfield, TESVI, and potentially even Fallout 5 sometime in the 2030s). The point I’m making here is if Starfield was maybe limited by Creation 2, then it’s then also fair to assume TESVI will experience similar problems throughout development. That very well could mean a disappointing game if the expectation is for TESVI to be the game that redefines the open world RPG genre (that is in fact the expectation). It’s also necessary to consider time and cost of development. One can only imagine the production budget for TESVI. That number has to be astronomical. It’s an issue not just with Bethesda, but with every single AAA game studio out there- games cost way more to make than ever before. Share holders and CEOs want a positive return on the investment, so the publishing parent company directs the studio as such. The studio is then forced to ensure the game has the widest possible audience. That’s the reason games are as streamlined and rushed as they are these days. That’s the reason game prices are skyrocketing. That’s the reason why games are now monetized in every possible way. It’s not that developers don’t care- many of them do- but the studio has to run on the shortest staff possible and hurry out a game designed to achieve expected profit margins. Look up it costed for Bethesda to make Starfield, and there’s the answer for the shallow paid creations content. Therefore, TESVI will also be subject to the same problem. It is likely to be heavily monetized and designed to reach and hold into the broadest possible audience. In other words, TESVI will probably not be the deep, definitive, modern RPG the fans actually want and expect. Now, Bethesda is also owned by Microsoft and Uncle Mikey is probably not going to accept TESVI being years and years away still. They absolutely will push Bethesda hard to finish the game as soon as possible within the parameters of financial potential they want. Tl;Dr- Fans shouldn’t wait up for TESVI with high hopes. That game is in a big pickle right now and odds are it won’t be the game we want.

Love this comment! 100% agree with every point you made. One of the biggest complains about starfield was loading screens. Go back to 2008 and imagine complaining about loading screens? We didn’t care! They were part of the game in every game. But the fact is today, the gaming world has become accustomed to the new engines that don’t require any loading screens. The creation engine clearly has become so outdated and it limits creativity so much. They really can’t expand much and for them to then take on not just a space game, but push to have 1000 planets in it, I mean it was never going to work! But they stuck with it. They really need to reconsider it and make changes because you’re spot on in that if they stick by the creation engine, it will never get better, there will always be limitations. And they are already falling behind, imagine where other games will be when TES6 finally drops? It’s not just a benefit, it’s a necessity for them to make that change.

It's not like they couldn't have solved this issue long ago. Bethesda is hellbent on sticking to that damned engine either way even when one of their subsidiaries, ID, has ID Tech Engine. Even under Zenimax, I'm sure that it wouldn't have taken that much convincing to get the engine, especially given how ID Tech 5 was designed with all genres in mind, as ID wanted to license the engine before Zenimax bought them out. Not only ID Tech looks amazing but it's very stable and very open to customisation. Not to mention, it's designed for first-person perspective games already... But no, the good, old Gembrio, sorry, Creation Engine needs to stay... And now, Bethesda are under Microsoft, they could probably get any game engine they'd desire and something tells me that Todd will still push for this old and busted Creation Engine anyway!

@@AVVGaming1 Dragon Age Inquisition was forced to use Frostbite, an engine not designed for RPG games, as such they had to build plugins and features into the engine as they were making the game. It made developers at BioWare miserable because learning a new engine is hard enough but building necessary functions into the Engine mid-development is a nightmare. Creation Engine comes from Gamebryo, an engine designed for MMORPG games from the get-go, so getting it for Morrowind was huge. MMO games utilised a huge open world with instanced dungeons, it was perfect, and from that Creation Engine came to be and it still operates much the same way... and it already had questing, levelling and everything built-in. Skyrim is an open world with instanced dungeons, basically, an MMO running natively on a user's PC, instanced cities and buildings to make sure that no memory leaks occur. It's not actually a stupid idea until you make a space game with 1700 planets, then the limitations of the DNA of the engine start to become a burden, especially when Elite Dangerous and No Man's Sky exist for comparison. But Bethesda's been working with the same tech for 22 years now, basically. It's an easy engine to work with, it has all the plugins they need to make games, and the engine is also modifiable, just see how many mods there are for Skyrim or Fallout 4... The reason why they can spit out Fallout 4, Fallout 76 and Starfield in a relatively short period for AAA game development is their knowledge of and familiarity with Creation Engine. It's like the old proverb suggests - you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I think Todd believes that teaching the whole team a new engine will slow development too much. It's just my take on the matter, of course, and the best I can do is speculate. But with all honesty, their boner for bigger and bigger games just holds them back at this point. Already in 2011, with Skyrim, people used to say that the game's as wide as the ocean and as deep as a puddle... and Bethesda just kept widening it more and not adding any depth to it. I mean, do you know that fast travel calculates the time you'd spend on walking in Skyrim or Fallout 4 and you pop out at the in-game time you'd normally arrive there should you walk? It would be a great mechanic if it was utilised for something like, oh I don't know, putting a time limit on completing quests!? But no, it's there, in the engine, just doing nothing, a whole calendar is built into Skyrim, in lore Daedra have specific days for summoning them into the world, the time is being calculated in the background and NOTHING utilizes that mechanic at all, for crying out loud, they don't even use all the features the engine allows them to! Alduin patiently waits to devour the world until you're ready, champ, even if in-game 50 years went by from that wagon ride and chopping block in Helgen. So when I saw that in Starfield one of the things featured prominently was a smartwatch... I couldn't stop laughing. Here's a funny - in Fallout 4, when you finally find Shaun, he looks like that not because the main character was frozen that long but because you were busy building settlements for all this time.

In my opinion, Bethesda should have focused on TES more, instead of other projects. Skyrim was a massive hit, but now that its been so long(like 13 years), alot of the momentum from their past success is gone. Theres alot of young gamers who don't even know what TES is anymore, when a decade ago it was all the rage. It is also likely that we will only see a couple more TES games in our lifetime. If it's gonna take 15+ years to make a sequel to a massive hit, imagine how long it could take Bethesda if an installment only has lukewarm success. Its sad, really. I love this series! Skyrim quests i felt were a little basic, and the main story ended abruptly to me, like it was a little rushed. I remember I felt like there was going to be some twist after defeating the main antagonist, but there wasn't, story over. I can't disagree with your points about Bethesda upping their narrative skills to at least match Witcher 3's... but I, for one, really don't want the combat to be overhauled. If anything want it to go back to Oblivion, with weapons that needed upkeep, spellcrafting, and better stealth mechanics (stealthy archer could work, but wasn't the most efficient path to go necessarily). Elder Scrolls after Oblivion became a First Person Action RPG, and just progressed more into the action side of it. The combat in Kingdom Come was full on RPG and made sense to the world it was in. You started off as a nobody with barely any practice with sword fighting, and combat got easier as you leveled up. It made sense for that world. In ES games, I want to start off as a character that knows how to hit enemies with whatever basic skills I start out with without having to do any fiddly BS to make my attacks connect. Combat in post-Morrowind ES should be down to when do I attack, when do I block, when do I side-step and use cover. I don't want a game where it's not only when do I attack, but how do I move my control stick to make the most effective attack (arthritis and cubital tunnel is making KB+M fighting that was essentially required in KC an impossibility). Also, if I want a souls-like experience, I'll play a souls-like game. I've played 2, Dark Souls Remastered and Elden Ring, I've hated the experience in both. Keep your souls-like addiction out of my Scrolls, please.
@AVVGaming15 ай бұрын
@@mdkos yes I didn’t mean as in bring dark souls combat to es6. It’s its own thing that and belongs in the games it’s in. For example, those games are known to be difficult. Es6 would not be vying with that same audience or trying to match that. It’s designed to be accessible for everyone. What I was referring to is just maybe something a bit more in-depth. I agree with your points about oblivion. Skyrim was a bit simpler and less complex. Is there anything you’d change about the combat system? Like a dodge button? A parry timing thing like Witcher? Or would you just say keep it the same. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it kind of thing
@mdkos5 ай бұрын
@@AVVGaming1 I don't know about using a dedicated dodge button, but I wouldn't mind a parry mechanic as long as it wasn't critical to whether you won or lost a battle. In ES I shouldn't take massive damage just because I miss timed the button push and blocked the attack instead of perfect timing parrying. At most it should just be a way to stagger the opponent. I like the left/right handedness of Skyrim, so keep that in coupled with the overcharge ability for dual wielding spells. Speaking on spells: Bring back meaningful spell-crafting. If I can craft a spell that creates a giant electrified fireball that leaves a freezing cloud in its wake that would completely nuke everything in a room if I set it off in the center (including me), then so long as I have the Magika and skill to cast it, LET ME CREATE IT! Weapons should degrade as they're used as they did in Oblivion, so for extra long times away from town carry backup weapons and maybe learn multiple styles of combat (multi-classing) to maximize efficiency. As for healing... I think there should be some reasonableness to it. Speed eating 300 potatoes in the middle of battle shouldn't really be a thing... but maybe making Healing Potions super easy to craft and stock up on before entering a dungeon? There does need to be some kind of balance for prep-time and planning when going out on quests. Key point I want to make is there needs to be a high level of forgiveness on the player: Mistakes in battle shouldn't ever kill you alone.
@AVVGaming15 ай бұрын
@@mdkos totally agree with every point you make! Also, didn’t oblivion have better spell crafting compared to Skyrim? I also don’t get the whole food system in either Skyrim or Starfield. It feels like it’s just too little. You’d have to eat 1000 potatoes in both to get a small bit of health back. They should consider adding new stats for eating food. Either like, more health for a set amount of time, more Xp, or like in Zelda BOTW and TOTK how different food helps in environments. I feel like it’s a missed opportunity in the Bethesda games so far. I think food had more value in fallout though. I do agree with all your points on combat though.
@mdkos5 ай бұрын
@@AVVGaming1 Skyrim didn't have spell crafting except through mods; and even then it was more limited than what Oblivion had. Mechanics-wise I felt that Skyrim was a huge step back from Oblivion, while the combat mechanics that Oblivion stripped from Morrowind were necessary (i.e. missing a cliffracer 30 times because your dice rolls sucked). Ideally, ES should go back to the story telling level of Morrowind (very similar to Witcher 3 where some side quests could be as engaging or more engaging than the main) while having Oblivion's combat as a base, with some extensions to it, such as the ability to parry and dual weilding weapons and spells similar to Skyrim. Personally, I'm looking forward to what "The Wayward Realms" will have to offer as an ES alternative.

The best thing they could do, at least in my opinion, is making difficulties, but with each difficulty, you introduce more game mechanics. The enemies have largely the same health pool etc. but on higher difficulties they are more aggressive, block and parry more, are more resourceful, etc. The problem with skyrim is that difficulty is mainly implemented through enemy health pools and damage. Combine that with the way they implemented level scaling (or lack thereoff) and you have fights that are super easy and one minute later you are getting your a** kicked.

I'll stand by the fact that bethesda were innovators. They paved they way for gaming in many ways. My problem with starfield upfront is that it didn't seem like it was that innovative based on reviews. Not that bethesda has to drop game of the year with every title, but man they used to for a very long time and I don't see how people can defend this weird shift. Fallout 76 is great and I've played it so much. To be fair, I would say it was really worth it around 2 years after it came out. I think bethesda only started to care about the game recently is because of the success of the show unfortunately. All of these standards are on them though like people said. It’s hard to watch a beloved series like The Elder Scrolls gradually lose the depth and complexity that made it great. Since Morrowind, the franchise has shifted steadily away from its roots as a deep, immersive RPG and moved towards a more streamlined, action-focused experience. This change has alienated many long-time fans who miss the depth and player agency of earlier games. Looking ahead to The Elder Scrolls VI, I fear the series will continue down this path of simplification, especially given Bethesda’s recent track record with games like Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Starfield. Morrowind represents the pinnacle of what The Elder Scrolls can achieve as an RPG. The game offered a richly detailed world that encouraged exploration and experimentation. There were no quest markers or hand-holding - players had to rely on vague directions, their own intuition, and a deep engagement with the game world to progress. Character development was incredibly flexible, allowing for a wide range of playstyles, from stealthy assassins to powerful mages. The game’s systems - like spellcrafting, enchanting, and alchemy - were deep, interconnected, and full of possibilities. The best thing about Morrowind was its sense of player agency. The game gave you a set of tools and let you figure out how to use them. You could ignore the main quest entirely, make morally ambiguous choices, and experience a world that felt genuinely responsive to your actions. It was a game that respected its players, trusting them to create their own stories and navigate its complex mechanics. With Oblivion, Bethesda began shifting towards a more accessible approach. The game retained many of the RPG elements of Morrowind, but they were noticeably streamlined. The introduction of a fast travel system, for instance, made the world feel less expansive and more convenient, reducing the sense of adventure and discovery that Morrowind offered. The leveling and skill systems were simplified, and quests became more linear, with quest markers guiding players from point to point. Oblivion also saw a move towards more generic fantasy tropes. While Morrowind featured an alien and unique setting, Oblivion’s world was more familiar and traditional. The quest design, while still offering some interesting choices, began to feel more formulaic. Bethesda’s emphasis on broadening the game’s appeal was evident, but at this point, the series still maintained much of its RPG identity. By the time Skyrim rolled around, the transformation was complete. Skyrim is less an RPG and more an action game with RPG elements. The game is undeniably beautiful, with a world that was fun to explore, but it sacrifices much of the depth and complexity that defined its predecessors. Character customization is heavily streamlined; attributes like Strength, Intelligence, and Willpower were removed, and skills were consolidated, reducing the range of meaningful character builds. The perk system, while interesting at first glance, is quite shallow compared to Morrowind’s intricate spellcrafting and enchanting mechanics. Dialogue options are limited and rarely impact the story in any meaningful way, and NPCs lack depth and complexity. The combat system, while engaging in a real-time, action-oriented sense, lacks the tactical and strategic depth that fans of traditional RPGs expect. Skyrim is built around delivering a visceral experience, but it often feels more like an action-adventure game dressed up in RPG clothing. The concerns only deepen when you look at Bethesda’s recent track record. Fallout 4 showed a clear trend towards further simplification and action. It reduced RPG elements, like dialogue choices, in favor of streamlined, action-focused gameplay. Fallout 76 was a mess at launch, filled with bugs and lacking in content. It was an attempt to chase the live-service, multiplayer trend with little regard for what fans of the series actually wanted. Starfield was supposed to be Bethesda’s grand return to form, but many players felt it fell short of expectations. Despite being marketed as a deep and expansive RPG, Starfield leaned heavily on repetitive fetch quests, lackluster storylines, and limited player agency. The procedural generation of planets led to a lot of generic, uninspired content, further highlighting the studio’s recent struggle to deliver the depth and innovation that made their earlier games stand out. Given Bethesda’s trajectory, there’s a strong likelihood that The Elder Scrolls VI will follow a similar path of further simplification. The emphasis will likely be on accessibility, streamlined mechanics, and mass-market appeal. We could see the removal or further merging of skills - perhaps combining magic schools into a single “Magic” skill or merging weapon skills into a generic “Combat” skill. Attributes may be reduced or eliminated entirely, leaving only health, stamina, and magicka. The trend towards removing or simplifying mechanics that offer depth is likely to continue. The spellcrafting system, which was already axed in Skyrim, will probably remain absent. Alchemy might be further simplified into a basic crafting system with fewer ingredients and effects. Complex questlines with multiple outcomes could be replaced by more linear, straightforward quests designed to ensure all players reach the same outcome. Even the narrative could lean into generic fantasy clichés to avoid alienating the broader audience.

Skyrim is a great game, I have enjoyed it for a long time now, but it's incredibly simplistic even compared to previous titles in the franchise and without modding I wager it'd be a forgotten title

I agree and I love Oblivion to death. Oblivion is definitely a more traditional rpg kinda game and skyrim is a more modern take on it. I'm worried about things too though. It seemed like many amazing mechanics and elements in oblivion did not return in skyrim for some reason while other improvements were great. It just sucks that most companies are tone deaf, or more so focused on the business side and less of the player side.
@AVVGaming14 ай бұрын
I preferred the RPG elements and spell creation etc in oblivion over Skyrim. The quests were better too. Skyrim got a pass because it still had a lot to offer, but the signs were there. I actually agree that there desire for mass appeal is the main reason their games are declining but what’s that saying “if you try to please everyone you will end up pleading no one”

For older gamers it’s actually commonly held that every elder scrolls game has been worse than the prior. They generally trade immersion and storytelling for mass appeal by including whatever features are popular in the gaming industry at the time. They’ve also consistently disproportionately prioritized ease of use. Skyrim was so incredibly basic that it hurt to play it. Talk to npc, get quest marker, kill things with bad combat (even for the time), go to new quest marker. How on earth am I supposed to do that for more than 20 minutes? Why on earth did I spend 50 hours doing it? None of the characters were very engaging in Skyrim and the autogenerated fetch quests made everything feel more uncanny than alive. The only good things I can say about it is that it had good music and visuals and made the world and lore of Elder Scrolls more accessible to non-gamers. People who played the prior games know that the characters and stories used to have more depth, and those are the only reason to spend more than 20 minutes playing if we’re being realistic with ourselves.

So my next video is discussing this. The removal of RPG elements and good writing from game to game. It’s been a downward trend from Morrowind, then to oblivion and finally to Skyrim. What’s crazy is that have actually gone even more basic with fallout 4 then starfield. Like there are quests were you need to investigate a crime scene, and they just put markers on what you need to check lol. It’s just silly. That’s one of my next videos but the next one is about the writing in Bethesda and why it’s declining

Might be fun if they did what Everquest 2 did with the Landmark project. @@abears7107 I’d say Elden ring is less about story more about “being in the moment”. They also use a different format for story telling e.g. item descriptions, hidden messages etc. their lore isn’t right in your face. You have to focus to get the story. It’s also left to the player “go find these gods and kill them” and that’s it. Each has a really good background story but you have to zone in to get it. It’s a background thing rather than the main attraction. In Witcher 3 for example, there are hour long cut scenes, exact quests with specific instructions on what to do etc. so both have stories yea, both well written, but one holds your hand every step of the way, whereas Elden ring wants you to figure it out yourself. Both good but in different ways. Does that make sense?

Only when players demand a normal game, and say that new Bethesda games are worthless, only then, in a critical situation, will they make a "new Morrowind". I have high hopes for Tes 6, but we as players need to remember that without our criticism of Bethesda games, they will just think that "people are already snatching" or that we don't care, I'm a die-hard fan of the TES series, and I want them not to screw up, so that Tes 6 would become as popular and successful as Skyrim in its time!

I think Skyrim showed how complacent they could be as they stopped innovating after that. I’m not sure your opinion on fallout 4 but it basically dropped all the RPG elements in Morrowind. Sadly it seems to me that they keep making the same mistakes again and again, and if this wont change then ES6 can take 10 years development and still will be underwhelming. Every constructive process needs honest self critic and the ability to mark out what is wrong and what is to do then. ps i just hope the game will have the same if not more support for modding, bc this is what kept Skyrim alive for so many years.

Yes and even with the writing, in Skyrim it was very short and basic. But we had a giant open world to explore. It was a standout game in 2011, Starfield would have been the same if it came out in 2011 too, but the engine, writing is starting to age. They need to take a few more risks and need new writing too. Starfield took 8 years to develop and delivered a graphically great mediocre game. I'd reserve your enthusiasm given what their last 2 games delivered. Fallout 76 took 3 years after release to be a good game. Starfield still needs a lot of care and attention. It's story left me wanting some added compelling reason to trudge thru the galaxy, and the perks were very slow to acquire. Elder Scroll 6, with its LONG development time speaks to how unfocused its content is being integrated. Indie studios create games with minimal staff and paltry budgets.
@AVVGaming14 ай бұрын
I think the fundamentals in starfield are bad. They made the planets so boring with very limited dungeons that repeated. There was no reward for travelling which made it undesirable to just go out And explore. This was a huge issue as this was Bethesdas strongest ability. (At least in my opinion). Some people say procedural generated content can work, but I just don’t think so. Us gamers have seen it all and we want to be rewarded every time we adventure or at least have a chance to have that exploration be rewarded. It’s what keeps us coming back.

It might be pure copeium but I’m hopeful that they won’t drop the ball on ESVI for one reason only. Starfield was such a massive flop of a new IP. If they want to continue as a studio they need to deliver.

I absolutely agree. Bethesda were considered one of the best gaming studios. Fallout 4, although not my favourite, still did the job. 76 hurt their reputation but we still thought a lot of them. I think ES6 will be bought crazily, even more than Skyrim. And I think its gonna be a huge disappointment, too. Bethesda is complacent and unwilling to learn. Edit: 3:11 you talk about Skyrim's combat being too direct, but that's exactly what made Skyrim so popular in the first place. Bethesda's games were streamlined from iteration to iteration. Just compare Morrowind's dialogue box to that of Oblivion. Compare that to Skyrim's, and then compare that to Fallout 4's. It's all an evolution of downgrading and streamlining. This was done on purpose, to make the games more and more accessable to new people who perhaps never played an RPG before. Well, "RPG" more like action adventure nowadays, but you get the point. Their initial strength turned into poison, and Bethesda is unable to see that. 10:56 I disagree. Starfield is lacking beyond repair.Skyrim had much more depth into it than Starfield ever could show. In Skyrim, if you shouted, the guards would come to tell you to quiet down. In Starfield, you can shoot right in front of the guards and they don't care. In Starfield, NPCs have no daily movement cycles anymore. That was dumped down, too. + all the horrible PC generated content that felt soulless. Starfield is bad in all time eras.

The closer a game can make you feel like your actions impact the world, the better. Actually, I remember in KCD, I kept stealing stuff in the town of Rattay. Then, I built up a reputation as a thief. I’d played the game for 50 hours walking through this town no problem, then suddenly I was stopped for random searching. The sheer number and quality of available fan created mods for Skyrim is staggering; as a hardcore gamer of nearly 45 years I will always advocate a couple of pure playthroughs of any moddable game but when it is addicting as Skyrim, adding new content and/or making the game world what you want it to be over more than a decade only adds to the additive replayability of any awesome game. Perhaps this feature is something that ties into the delay when considering how much Bethesda put into integrating mods into TES5?

Yes and I’ve actually done two videos recently. One “is Skyrim immortal?” Just discussing that point and how mods helped. I also did a video “are mods helping Bethesda?” Where I discuss how important it is for them to keep the modding options. Like, if they upgraded the engine and the game was better, but mods weren’t available then would that be the rihht call? I don’t think so

@@AVVGaming1 This was my first video of yours and I found it fresh and engaging. I have subscribed and will check out those two out but I can already say with great enthusiasm that I do believe Skyrim is immortal and I agree that removing modding capabilities would be a step backwards. Would people play and enjoy the game? Absolutely. Would it gain the same immortality and replayability as Skyrim? Highly unlikely.

@@Mortuusiam I think Skyrim is just one of a kind. One of those games that comes around once in a lifetime maybe. It’s unique and special. No other like if. Please let me know your thoughts on the Skyrim video cuz I’d love to hear from you a fellow Skyrim fan! Mods definitely are a reason, but not the only reason.
@Mortuusiam3 ай бұрын
@@AVVGaming1 One of a kind is subjective, I think. I played WoW for 12 years before Blizzards' nerfing got to be too much and I bet I have spent just as many hours in Elite Dangerous as I have in Skyrim. I play ED in solo play in VR so I never interact with other players. I feel that ED has the same immortality as Skyrim. It is definitely special and a cut above for its' genre. I will let you know my thoughts about the other videos shortly.

@@jordanmarazzi gta 6 trailer came out and the world stopped for a second. When it drops it will be huge and everhone will talk about it. The issue is that while ES6 has been announced in 2018, at that point and all the way until the release of Starfield, the game has been in pre-production with only a small team working on it. The majority (and for times) all of Bethesdas main Studio where working on Starfield rather than ES6. If ES6 was in main production for all this time, my hopes that we would get something truly breathtaking and amazing, something that would put Bethesda at the top again, would have been high. But as it stands ES6 does not have that much production time into it. And while a release date is not on the horizon any time soon, the game will still have a lot less development time than you think it will have.

I know and it’s a shame when you look at starfield. I played Skyrim yesterday and kept thinking “I cannot believe they managed to make this in just a few years!” When I play starfield I think “I cannot believe they took this long as the game looks like it was done in a year”

Exactly! We need Bethesda to reflect and put some serious time into this new project! We want another Skyrim! We need them to get this one rihht. Even if we have to be really patient…it should hopefully pay off! Bethesda made Morrowind, Fallout 3, Skyrim and Oblivion, we know they got it in them to deliver another game like Skyrims level!

I hope the main of quest of next Elder Scrolls will be twice the longer than the shorter main main quest of Skyrim.
@AVVGaming14 ай бұрын
@@lexatrice2600 I think it will be. The main quest in FO4 and starfield was longer so that’s a good sign in that regards. But yes the main quest in Skyrim was not only short but it was pretty boring, and not unique right up until the end.

Good points. I think the key is that they need to fully realize the mistakes they’ve made and look at all the criticism. If they then are able to really buckle down and do it seriously, I think it can be an amazing game. But it’s certainly looking like it could go the other way now… I just hope they can pull it off.

I’ve just done a bunch of videos on this topic and I just don’t think they’re listening :( they seem so set in their ways and seem to be trying to appease a different crowd than the actual crowd of fans they have lol. I wish they’d listen, but I just don’t see it.

Never seen your channel before, but this was very well put together. Too many people want ES6 tomorrow, but do you really want "Star Scrolls", cause that's what you'd get. Skyrim was the first and only game I ever stood in line for at midnight to get my hands on it. They've really got to raise the bar to make me feel like that again.
@AVVGaming14 ай бұрын
Yes and thank you for the feedback and kind words! I agree that Skyrim, oblivion, Morrowind, these games set the standards. They were the bar, Bethesda games. Now they’ve fallen from that spot, but they have been experimenting with FO76, Starfield and it’s been a tough time for them hearing the feedback. They need time to reflect and capture that magic again they saw in Skyrim. It will take time.
