My mom is the same age and sadly, she is not as sprite and logical as this woman. She must have very good genes. Having said that, however, it is easy to not be as concerned with "stuff" when one is not homeless and ones kids are grown and settled.

Wisdom of the aged is valuable. I am now 70 and I lost my home years ago to a fire my son 9 at time and only the clothes on our back. It was so horrible and traumatic at the time. Now all these years later I live minimally in senior housing and the perspective I gained is everything.

Yes I wish they would interview more older people, seeing how they are doing... If they got family or a place set by the city to stay😂... not just young couples with tons of plans😢. And for BQ0's comment( about some kind of kharma, or revenge) , no I don't think God is that bad that he would wait for them to be old and get back at them, when they are on the floor😢unless it's terrible people and many were affected by disasters(even worst than this) God is nice so ok of someone is young, yes bad stuff could happen🤔. What a wonderful person and I love her positive and sincere attitude. The only annoying thing is the title of this news item! When a person is labelled as being “Elderly” it tends to suggest that that person is slowing down, no longer has their wits about them, needs our help. Well, it seems to me that this lovely lady is non of these. Let’s get rid of labels - not just for mature people but also for young people. The labels aren’t necessary and tend to depersonalise.

My fur babies are everything and the most important in my life. The rest is just things collected along the way. We build garages to protect a tin can that we run around in, we build bigger spaces to have more things when really we need to place value on what's more important. Building sustainable but also making sure all material used has a form of fire resistence is also key in fire prone and drought areas. From chosing a metal roof to using rockwool as insulation. Or building completely concrete - including the roof. This lady is a what an optimist looks like, she obviously couldn't care about the things she has collected and places value on her fur baby.

Wow! Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill! This woman moves and talks and looks 25 years younger! Obviously, not being a professional victim is good for us, she is a fighter! It served her well. To be honest, I would have believed her to be 72. She is in extremely good shape. Her attitude will keep her alive another century if her body would allow it! God bless her!
