Ask that mom how she raised him. I am a Japanese Citizen. These are just a few bad example. Those old "parents" are plenty gamble addict that never care thier Children at thier time and also abused thier Children. Those Children have thier mental stress when they meet thier parents. Just go to check yourself instead of blaming others. Majority Japanese people are very loving and supportive to thier parents. You can find it at hospital elderly center. Jail is definately a terrible place to confirm it.

To be fair to the son, we dont actually know what kind of a mother she was to him. It's easy to judge without knowing the full story. Abusers are good at "playing theater" and it*s not fair to expect a survivour to take care of the person who hurt them, just because now they need something.

The public call-out is her trying to get other men to white-knight for her and harass/attack her own son (you can see the exact reaction she was looking for in some of the comments on this video), so... clearly, she was a wonderful mother. Very loyal and caring too, I'm sure.🙄

I think the problem is- and maybe this applies for Japan too, we just work too damn much… I have an office job, but after I get home from work, I don’t feel like doing anything else except watch a show or two. If we had more time to spend with friends and do stuff with friends, then we might be more social and less lonely

No they don't 😂...my city has (reportedly) 6,000 homeless, a lot of which are in a notorious open air drug market neighborhood. 99% are drug addicts, thats just a fact...their dealers are across street, somewhere nearby. When the temperature drops, they dont go anywhere...what they do is steal metal trashcans from street corners, subway stations. Then they find wood, paper, anything flammable out of piles of garbage, and light bonfires...I kid you not 😂 They get blankets from church outreach groups and cover up against storefronts, subways. Theyre not going far from their drug supplier. They are fed free three course meals by church outreach groups drop offs, and are eating better than YOU are 🙂. They eat some or none at all, and toss it on the sidewalk.

Social isolation is an important risk factor for dementia. It is sad to see elderly people in this country and other countries feeling so isolated. Social media is no real replacement. That Japanese woman's son will be old someday, sooner than he thinks. May his own children treat him the same way.

It is not really a thing in the US, but a large problem in the world has become that prisons have better rehabilitation care than eldercare provides. I think this isn't just a japan problem. Far to few suicide prevetion statistics count elder suicide because a lot of said suicides are counted as "mistakes" or "natural causes" heart attacks.

It makes me happy to know I live in a Western Asian country that still has strong big family structures, and even though ı am a single man, I will not be left alone in my old age by my many nieces, nephews, aunites, uncles, cousins, second cousins, third cousins, fourth cousins etc. even if I wanted to. There is no such thing as distant relative in my country, all relatives are close relatives, and we check each other constantly. It is almost tribal.

The Japanese seemed to have stumbled onto a missing public service. These elderly people want to live and work for room, board & community. Create self sustain facilities to cater to the need. Working retirement communities, where they do their minimum labor, they can age in place, and have other abled-bodied seniors work in the assisted living/hospice section coupled with other perks, rather than prison confinement. They can be a net benefit to society, rather than a net expense. Japan already has a worker crisis on it's hands. Give the elderly, who want it, a job, a purpose and a community.

I'm not really sure why elderly centers were glazed in this video. If you ever known anyone who has been to one they are often pretty terrible places in the US. Some have been caught intentionally pushing drugs on elderly to keep them quiet, they just have rooms with nothing much to do, some people go bankrupt over keeping people there, there's just so many layers of wrong. That's major issue for me on the left as someone who wants universal healthcare is to also majorly reform elderly centers to have parks, views, games etc. The way they are ran now is prison with a handshake

I used to run a care home, and it is also very hard for caregivers. They are often underpaid and overworked. I ran a smaller home, so it was easier to give one on one care to the residents. However, there are larger facilities where the caregivers are tasked with clothing, feeding, giving medications, changing diapers, bathing, etc all on a tight schedule. Many residents have some form of dementia, and will be confused, irritable, hyper sexual, aggressive, etc. It is a tough job that burns many people out unfortunately.

It's the atomized family unit that is the problem. Adult children always left home to build their own lives. What remained was your local community. Adults aren't building these social networks anymore. In part, I'd agree that yes they are too busy with work. But, also they are over prioritizing their kids. The community BBQ has been replaced with running little Billy to soccer, Boy Scouts, and guitar lessons. It's no wonder with all that BS, that folks have no energy left for anything else.

99% of the homeless in my city are drug addicts...the very reason they wound up homeless in the first place is theyre drug addicts 😂. A lot of them arent even from the city. They came from the suburbs and the state next door, to the open air drug neighborhood here to get high. The high became more important than the rent/mortgage. They get high, they wake up on the sidwalk after being passed out, robbed of their wallet and belongings...they're stuck there 😂...

Many, many people become drug addicts to deal with life on the streets. Others started taking drugs to deal with how horrible life in America is for so many.

@MWhaleK id also add that alot of good ppl became addicts and stayed addicts during the oxycontin epidemic. Oxycontin was pumped onto pur streets in every state in the country by Purdue pharma, aka the Sacklers. There was 100s of 1000s of ppl if not millions honestly that started taking these pills who became addicts who probably wouldn't have been addicts otherwise. Than fast forward 10 years they take the pills away and places like China and Mexico capitalize on this and than here comes fentanyl. I'm not saying this was the sole cause of the drug/homeless problem but it definitely contributed

Well i got 0 idea on how much poison i consumed partly because i became obsessed that my triangle shape cake came in a blue square bucket and ended up eating pretty much the entire thing (the cream was to much for me so i didnt eat the end part with it) I surprisingly got full with pretty much 0 idea with what i consumed i sort of follow the rule at this point you deal with poison eating human beings anything cream based probably some kind of cex and go with the ladder of maybe a mixture I am trying to get used to this all and follow what chase said but its hard

@Larreatridentata-t5i one vehicle, smaller home, day trips and zero expensive vacations, buying second hand, dinners in not out. There are many ways to save money. Maybe try a money management course. Are people important or things? You can always have grand excuses, horrible selfish people normally do
