This arrangement is so great, it's bonkers! I've occasionally strummed my way through this tune playing nothing but straight cowboy chords, and now it's time to go back to school.. All the harmony and syncopation you're giving us here just takes it to a whole other level for a solo acoustic guitar. I almost feel like you don't even need the vocal, and this arrangement would be interesting enough just as an instrumental.. Frigging stellar!

Really like your musical style. This lesson is easy to watch and listen to because you don;t get into the annoying specific details of string/fret positions. I can see what you are doing and with your overall description I can pretty much get what you are doing though I cannot even get close to doing this. But your teaching styles fits my learning capabilities and patience (lack of). I will now strive to watch this often and learn what I can. Very much appreciated! Best Wishes!
@steveklick3 жыл бұрын
You did a really good job with this and you teach really well. Most people cant speak plainly about what they are playing and then they over speak on things that aren't necessary. Its like they would try to teach and advanced arrangement like this to beginners using their language, its so dumb it makes me want to smack them over the head with an acoustic guitar like out of a cartoon or something. You may very well be a true genius. I got the harmonic part down but I'm going to have to come back and get the rest, this is next level for me, I can basically do it with other things but not quite like this. Thank you!

Josh - thanks!! I'd call myself an intermediate player, and like everyone else was blown away by your cover. To now be able to play it (to an approximation, at least), thanks to this fantastic tutorial, is incredibly confidence-inspiring and I can't thank you enough. I found his lesson to be perfect, just the right pace and level of detail, so I could bite off pieces and learn the whole thing over a couple weeks (I can only pay about a 1/3 at all well yet, but ... time). Singing at the same time, though, seems like science fiction! Also, I covet that Martin ... If you're taking votes: tutorial on Just Like Heaven.

Thanks for breaking it down and sharing the challenge... wonderful drone and off beat harmonics - how the Beatles or Paul might have dreamed to play it live on guitar. "A string section scored by Beatles producer George Martin consisting of four violins, two violas and two cellos were used in recording. Paul may have been inspired by the classic composer Vivaldi. The Beatles didn't play any of the instruments on this track. All the music came from the string players, who were hired as session musicians. Because of the string section, this was difficult to play live, which The Beatles never did. On his 2002 Back In The US tour, Paul McCartney played this without the strings. Keyboards were used to compensate." from Song Facts
