Can we take a minute to feel for Mr. Ken? He married a girl when he got her pregnant and tried to take care of the baby, and her, and work full time to provide. He tried to imagine that his ex was an Angel of mercy not a sex crazed granny killer. He didn’t want her to die or hurt herself even after everything… but he did the right thing and told the police anyway. What a mess.
@wolfzmusic9706 Жыл бұрын
Eh, I felt sorry for him for most of the video but he kept the murders a secret for at least several months. I don't know how a decent human being could do that. If somebody confided that information to me, I'd tell the police immediately (unless they threatened to kill me or something, but that didn't happen with Ken).

@@BabyJellyfish Usually I'd agree, but this woman helped to murder five people. I would not care about whether she died or not frankly. I would care way more about the victims than her. I know for sure I would tell people pretty quickly and not wait months and months. Maybe there'd be a bit of a delay, but after knowing that it's 100% true I would not keep it to myself for several months because it could lead to more deaths possibly, as murderers can kill again. So no, I would definitely tell pretty quickly because I know I'd feel absolutely horrible saying nothing and couldn't wait that long.

In 1992 Richard Williams murdered my grandfather and many others at the VA hospital in Columbia Missouri. You can google it and read the story. Before working there he was a nurse at a nursing home and a high number of people died during his shift so they let him go. They didn’t turn him in. He got a job at the hospital and continued his murder spree. He injected them with succinylcholine and watched them die. Back then it was untraceable in a autopsy. They later exhumed some bodies and found it. It’s been a long time since this happened but when I hear stories like this I get so mad all over again. Even more upset because I know he’s free and living among us. Someone in the fbi messed up the paperwork and he got off. I can only hope his last moments on this earth are as terrifying and painful as my grandfathers were. No…I hope they are worse.

Healthcare workers who murder is definitely scarier than others. The hospital where I was born had nurse’s aid who claimed to have killed at least 70 people, but he couldn’t even remember all of their names. Donald Harvey got a job in Marymont Hospital. He killed his first victim a little over a one month after I was born. When you learn about someone like that who you knew was in the hospital, luckily not working there at the time of your birth, it is beyond freaking. He started spending time in the hospital because one of his grandparents was there. After the death of his grandparent, he got a job at the hospital. His first arrest was in 1971 on suspicion of burglary. He was drunk at the time of his arrest and bragged to the cops about killing 15 people at the hospital, but sadly they didn’t believe him. He continued killing until 1987 in hospitals in Kentucky and Ohio. He had at times claimed to have killed them out of mercy, but at others he has said it was the power that drove him to kill. Too many of his patients had made him angry before their deaths, in my opinion to be mercy killings. He even laughed at his trial. He was convicted of 37 murders (the ones he remembered their names, 37 out of 70 or more) and was murder himself in prison in 2017.

Hello lovely Eleanor, I have a case suggestion; Okay so basically a year ago two loved teachers (Sara Böök and Victoria Edström) were brutally murdered by a student at our school in Sweden. There was quite a bit of coverage the first week or so and a little bit about a week ago when it was the 1 year "anniversary" of the incident, though other than that it has been pretty silent. (And a lot of it seemed to just be a great headline for news stations..which is heartbreaking). Which is quite sad for many different reasons but people are still suffering, myself included.. and it's almost treated as if it never really happened as people don't know how to handle the situation. And this whole thing just needs to be known to help bring awareness and educate people on how to and how not to handle a situation like this if it happens again. Our school did the best that they could with dealing with the situation, but because of a lot of poor decisions we have ended up suffering because of it. I'd just love if you could talk about it as these two teachers just deserve to be known by people..they were so so lovely. The justice system actually did good for once which is a nice change. Although the final verdict took much longer than expected which was quite frankly agony. The perpetrator had two psych evaluations and both said that even if he did have something it wouldn't be enough to make him do what he did. Though people are still trying to claim he was severely autistic saying that he was acting on impulses even though he literally planned it, just the victims were random. And people feeling sorry for him (which is also a punch in the gut for the people who suffer with mental health and are in the nd community, we aren't like this) and the public throwing out all sorts of vile comments talking about race and ethnicity and being horrible rather than focusing on the two women who were horrifically taken from this world at a place where they should have been able to feel safe. Just a thought, much love. X

Correction: ▪️Most dementia patients are living in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with memory care units. We refer to them as residents. ▪️These facilities usually have one registered nurse (RN) on staff that often has only an associate’s (2 yr.) degree, not a bachelor’s of science in nursing (BSN). They usually have an administrator on staff also, and in my experience the facilities are often poorly managed. ▪️Licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nurse assistants (CNAs), and caregivers comprise most of the staff in nursing homes. ▪️An LPN program usually takes about 10-12 months to complete. CNA certification can be done in about 4-8 weeks or less, and caregivers without certification are not even required to have a high school diploma in most States. ▪️CNAs are the backbone of long-term care and assisted care for patients in hospitals and residents in nursing homes. They provide direct, hands-on care. Without them the whole care system would collapse. ▪️LPNs are “hands-off” nurses. They should be reclassified, in my opinion, and called something else other than nurses because they do not like helping with patient care. ▪️LPNs pass medications at certain intervals during the shift and informs the RN if any incidents happen. Other than that, they sit down lounging and eating or, on their cell phones the whole shift while the CNAs do all the work on the unit. ▪️CNAs are often bullied by LPNs, they are overworked and grossly underpaid for the work they do. Most are living at or below the poverty line, earning less than $15 dollars an hour and less than or barely $20 thousand dollars a year. ▪️Most nursing homes and assisted care facilities are for-profit businesses owned by corporations that make generous profits. CNAs are expected to do multiple jobs including: • provide direct patient care (bathing, toileting, and feeding) • housekeeping (scrub toilets, make beds, mop floors, clean dining room) • serve three meals a day (plus snacks) • taking out the trash • provide activities for the residents • provide laundry service • light maintenance • IT service • do charting and documentation ▪️The corporations get all of these jobs out of CNAs and barely pay them minimum wage. It is common for CNAs to be assigned to provide care for more than 10 residents at a time with no assistance from LPNs; leaving them barely enough time to get a bathroom break. ▪️Many CNAs are overwhelmed, frustrated, and burnt out. This is why there is such a high turnover with CNAs, staffing shortages, and why it’s hard to attract good workers to do these jobs. ▪️The shamefully-low wages and poor working conditions of CNAs is an evil in the healthcare industry that needs to be addressed and corrected.

My comment isn't related to the video, but I'm Italian and I study languages. One of them is English and being interested in true crime, some time ago I decided I wanted to start watching english true crime content. That's when I found Eleanor's vids and I literally became obsessed with them and her, and I can't even tell you how much I love her accent. Thing is, friends started noticing that I had picked up her accent when speaking English, so she helped me not only with new vocabulary. Now it is as if I always have a video of her playing in my head when I speak English 🫶

This is so weird to me. As a lesbian, I find it so odd to specify that. You don’t see “straight killers do blank” or “straight killer” but I’ve seen sooo many gay killer tittles as if being gay is the issue or something. Multiple videos on this channel have “gay killer” titles. NOT saying Elenor is like homophobic or something, I don’t think she is. It’s just something I’ve noticed in true crime that rubs me the wrong way. Why can’t we just specify the dynamic as a couple? It literally doesn’t matter that there gay, the point is they are terrible people who committed crimes. Straight ppl also commit crimes, why does sexuality matter to specify when gays commit crimes? I don’t care the sexuality of someone who did a crime. There a terrible person for the crimes they did and this is the story of it. Idk. Seems so oddly specific and stupid.

These people aren’t nurses. They are nursing assistants or PSWs depending on what country you are in. As a RN, I don’t want to lumped in with these unprofessional, mentally unstable criminals. Also, the management at that facility was totally inept and unprofessional to have such drama and unprofessional behaviour occurring amongst the staff, regardless of their sexual orientation.🇨🇦

if Cathy was born in generation Z (sorry to sound cringe lmao) then her entire story would've looked so so different. assuming she'd have more accepting parents, she'd be able to have the freedom to express who she really is without judgement. she'd be less judged upon for having an abortion, having a teen/pre-marital pregnancy, she wouldn't be expected to then marry and stay together with the baby's father, etc etc... there's just so many parts of this story where I feel so blessed to be growing up in a much more accepting and understanding time.
@alwaysinnocent1172 Жыл бұрын
You don't sound cringe at all lol. And a point to bring up, even if her parents hadn't been more accepting in this day, she probably could have found a shelter for LGBTQ+ youth. Maybe all of this could have been stopped if her parents were accepting and had the love in their hearts to love her as their daughter above all else.

Some nursing homes have such bad levels of care. Some are great, but then there are others that break your heart. No one was as horrible to my great grandma, but my mom was working at the kitchen there while she was dying and overheard nurses complaining and joking about my great grandma's cries as she died. She was in pain, alone (my mom was working so she couldn't go over there), and crying out for my great grandpa and they ridiculed her and complained about a dying woman being in pain. Sometimes it attracts awful people.

I cared for my grandma for as long as I could, but she eventually became too combative for our respite carers to safely manage (they were wonderful) and we did have to find her a very nice care home, where we already knew one of the carers who worked there - she actually really enjoyed socializing with the other residents and made some friends there. From everything I could tell, they did a good job keeping their residents safe and as happy as possible Do what you can, for as long as you can, but it’s different when you never clock out, even though you of course love and treasure your relative - anyway, there are decent places; you just have to really do your homework on it first

It's horrendous how many in the medical field enter the job simply because they want to harm people. Even now, my cousin (who is currently studying as a nurse) would tell me stories of classmates and schoolmates of hers who want to be doctors and nurses because they want to spread ideas of anti-vaxx, homeopathy, and other pseudo-medicine and pesudo-science stuff. Her old roommate was even into essential oils and have repeatedly foughtwithprofessors for discouraging her from using the stuff. It's wild.
