He chose to be irresponsible in every decision he made. The last I checked, you don't kill someone just because you don't like that you may have to take financial responsibility for a child you helped make. That's immature, selfish, cruel, corrupt, narcissistic, and tyrannical. He is also a callous coward for trying to shirk his responsibility by planning the death of his ex-girlfriend and child. She would also still be breathing and more than likely not pregnant if he had protected sex or got sterilized. Something that doesn't get mentioned often is that Ray's first son's mother decided to go into hiding with her son the moment she heard about what happened to Cherika. She KNEW Ray had done this. And the moment Cherika died and it was clear Ray was nowhere to be found, she was taken into protective custody by federal officials. That had to have been terrifying.

Those 2 probably aren't the only ones, just the only mother not afraid to call the police and get things on record. She was smart and brave, people don't realize how hard calling the cops is or bringing up charges actually is cause it gets women killed. People like this have long histories of domestic violence and rape that get covered up by whatever sport they work for cause a game will always be worth more than women and children in this shitty world no matter what part of the world. He's not an isolated incident this is rampant in sports, black, white, Spanish, Asian, it doesn't matter, football, rugby, hockey, soccer, hell it's in sports we nearly never hear about, figure skating, lacrosse, basically anything in the Olympics. If it's not a player abusing someone and it's being covered up it's an official of some sort, coaches, doctors, trainers... Any statistics tell you women don't do it as much but I don't doubt that this bs happens in women's sports too. You have so many dopers and that screws your mind. You have women on testosterone and men injecting even more testosterone. There's an entire culture rooted in male privilege and rape culture in sports and it's always been that way. These people can do whatever they want without penalty. It's so rare a sportsman losses their job over something that would get the average person fired their average job. The one guy I can think of who actually faced real jail time over a crime. He killed a guy who had been abusing and raping his sister and he children.

I live near Charlotte and remember when this happened. Every year on Chancellor's birthday, they do a special on the news. He just graduated high school and is doing great. His grandmother really stepped up to the plate. When Ray was released, Cherica's mother wanted Ray to have a relationship with his son, something she's a Saint for doing because I couldn't do it lol. Can't believe Ray is out of jail, he deserved to rot in prison.

Guys chancellor graduated high school almost a year ago by now 💖 I looked up his current life and not only does he walk with the help of his grandma (yes with that severe of a brain demage he still manages to walk) AND HE TALKS A BIT TOO, he spoke to the reporters and he has this smile that is just amazing, he today has a high school diploma alongside a beautiful connection with his grandma and one of the prettiest smiles I’ve ever seen, miracle boy 💝

Honestly, kudos to Sandra, she is such a good mother/grandmother/role model. As Eleanor mentioned, she took Chancellor in like her own child (literally named him)and forgave everyone who was involved in the murder, (EVEN THE ONE WHO ENDED HER DAUGHTERS LIFE AND ALMOST ENDED HER GRANDSONS' ASWELL, like if I was in her place, maybe I'd come to forgive the other three, but never him). I can't even imagine the pain she went through having to turn off her daughters' life support. @@jodea2017 I know its easy to think she did the wrong thing, but honestly we don't know what the doctors were telling her. We cant even begin to imagine how hard that decision must've been, she will have had good reason. Not to mention how cripplingely expensive it is to pay for that kind of intensive treatment. Money doesn't grow on trees and she now had a grandson to provide for too who not only required her attention but has medical conditions too. I hope her mother feels peace, I'm sure she did all she could for her baby girl.

As for the no trace of payment, I am pretty sure the photo he took of the baby to to prove the hit man failed and not to pay. As if killing the mother of your child and trying to also kill your unborn child isn't bad enough, I read that in 2018, Rae Carruth had the audacity to ask for custody of his son. Luckily he was denied. After all he did, robbing Cherica of her life and future as the mom she wanted to be, and leaving their son permanently disabled, the least he could do is stay as far away from his son and the grandmother as possible. But of course he's too self absorbed and twisted to do that.

If you choose to not have an abortion and have children, then those children are your own responsibility and your own decision. She was an adult and she was the only one with power. I am so mad Micheal Kennady got 14 years in prison. I feel so bad for the victim of course but he didn't know what was going to happen till they black-mailed him and said "You'll go to prison" and "You're next". It's heartbreaking that Ray didn't get life for attempted murder of his son and the first-degree murder of his ex-girlfriend (even though he didn't fire the shots it was HIS plan so I feel like he should have gotten a charge for first-degree murder). The fact that Ray got only 10 years more than Micheal, the guy who didn't fire the shots and went straight to the police afterward and obviously felt remorseful I'm not excusing Micheal's actions I just feel that he should have gotten way fewer years than Ray, and Ray should have gotten life! Just my opinion feel free to disagree I would love to hear your opinions! This case is truly heart-breaking and I feel so bad for her son and her.

The photographs of Saundra and Chancellor brought tears to my eyes. I have a younger brother who suffers with cerebral palsy, and I can only imagine the strength that Chancellor has to be able to live day to day. And, it is a blessing of sorts that he has a grandmother in Saundra who will give him the best life possible. Sometimes (or oftentimes really) the US has such a skewed way of dealing with criminal offenders. Rae should never have left that prison facility…and definitely shouldn’t have had a load of “groupies” waiting to meet up with him. I hope that Saundra’s and Chancellor’s futures are nothing but bright and full of love. This was a tragedy that never should’ve occurred. And justice was only partially met.
