When you said that you can’t imagine an intruder coming in and standing over you and stealing your phone it made me want to share my experience with this: My ex boyfriend, father to my daughter, was abusive and then became crazy when I finally left him. After he had moved out, I got my keys back from him to my house. I was asleep in the living room on the couch with my 6 year old son and 10 month old daughter. I woke up to my dog barking in my kitchen when I know that I had locked her out in the enclosed back porch that I have. There would be no way she would be inside unless someone let her in. My heart immediately sank. I made sure I could see both kids. I went to grab my phone and it was gone. I had another phone in my bedroom and got up the courage to run in there to get it. It was not there either. I did not know if the intruder was still in my house. I couldn’t see anyone but my dog was going crazy. I feared around every corner I would be attacked. I knew I had to act to protect my children. I wrapped the kids in blankets and went to grab my truck keys… they were gone too. After standing there frozen and assuming the intruder was standing outside waiting for us, I made the decision to pick up my babies and make a run for it. I ran over 2 miles to my cousins house in the middle of the night with my kids in hand. We called the cops and when they got there my back door to my enclosed porch and back door to my house were wide open. My ex had made copies of the key and came in in the middle of the night and stood over me as he took away my 2 methods to call for help and the keys to my vehicle to get help. I knew it was him because he uploaded a naked picture of me to my Facebook from my phone after he stole them. It was the worst feeling in the world. I will never forget it and I live in constant fear.

I work in a hospital and one time (good many years ago) this bloke who worked in the mortuary suddenly got arrested. We found out later it was because his wife had gone to the gynaecologist and had an infection which could only be got from the dead - basically her hubby had been railing her with corpse juice still on him, after sneaking the fridge door open. It’s more common than you think.

I remember working on an abuse case for a child (I'm not going to say the name of the case because our page got light on the situation across countries). But we worked hard on a Facebook page to get light on the case, and luckily the kid got away from the abusive parent, and their other parent got full custody (they are doing great now). Some of the people we worked with had been doing this job for years, and I remember one of the ladies telling us that she had to work on cases were they had to go into the dark web, and all they could do was watch poor babies and children being sold off, amongst other things. Kids that people had been looking for, even for years. And they couldn't do anything about it, because of the high risk they were putting themselves on just sitting on the actions, or rooms on the dark web. They felt so helpless, and when something is able to be done about it finally it's a big weight lifted off their shoulders. I'll never forget her telling us "You never unsee those things, you never get over them, and you will never be the same again".

The mortuary workers had no idea this was happening and they were absolutely distraught and disgusted when it came out. The thing is, there would be no outward sign this was happening. It’s not like you can bruise a body.
@carnageunleashed Жыл бұрын
Another thing to add is that ‘being released to their families’ is a bit misleading - although there is nothing legally stopping a family from collecting their loved one themselves, the deceased are actually collected from the hospital by a funeral director who takes them into his/her care and prepares them for their funeral (including viewing by the family if required) But that said, there was still no outward sign this was happening. Even when cleaning and preparing them, none of us noticed anything untoward. If we had, then it would have been reported.
@elizabethleta1240 Жыл бұрын
@@carnageunleashed exactly. I think the implication with that other comment that there was some level of neglect on the mortuary professional's part (for not having caught on earlier) is based on a misunderstanding of what a body would look like after being assualted. Especially bcz they mentioned bruising which just doesnt happen on cadavers. But i do think this is FAR more common than we realize. Ppl with necrophilia are undoubtedly forcing their way into lines of work where they can have access to bodies. Even in ancient Egypt and Greece the bodies women and children were routinely sent to morticians AFTER the process of decomp was underway because necrophilia during the mortuary process was a wide spread and commonly known fear
