Eff are good debaters and their mandate is clear but when it comes to their foreign policy on immigration that will never find solace with south africans. I'm an EFF Member but I do find the foreign policy out of touch with what South Africans are experiencing. We live in a country where basically all low skill jobs have been dominated by foreigners. Probably 2.4Million jobs that would be supporting poor black households are going to legal but mostly illegal foreigners (let's be real) who don't pay tax and contribute to our struggling economy.

The PA is 10 years old but has never been in an election conference to test their democracy. EFF elects its leaders at conferences and the policies and resolution of the party are made by the members through conferences, they are not forced/imposed by self appointed "leaders".

Although this view of the youth and for the youth is appreciated, the debate was very uninspiring. I don't feel like the guys were well prepared and actually articulated the solutions they believe in well, more so the representative from the PA. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to the next round of engagements.

I think this interview is a great representation of the political landscape of South Africa. More times than not, speakers just throw keywords with no background knowledge being explained or explored. They also spoke really quickly. I don't know if that was due to the time constraints or because they had to go through all their keywords. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Many comments here celebrate the EFF speaker for putting a "coherent" argument. But in my opinion, it is merely a win by default. The other guy barely showed up. Many holes showed up in both their arguments, as well as a clear lack of depth. To conclude, the idea is great. The future speakers should however, try to present themselves better. One recommendation is to include viewer opinions in the debate, via live chat.

Sizwe, you should've brought ActionSA youth candidate mntase. What does the EFF candidate mean that there are no Jobs in SA when the hotels, Petrol stations, Restaurants are packed with foreigners? If there were no jobs or opportunities, foreign nationals would not be flocking to South Africa. Come to Cape Town and you will see what I mean.

If there were jobs the unemployment rate wouldn't be as high as it is now would it? African Foreign Nationals only make up less than 3% of the South African population (go read the 2022 census report in detail). The narrative that they are taking jobs is not supported by science because even if they were to be deported, we will still sit with an extremely high unemployment rate. There's just over 1million Zimbabweans in the entire SA. We have over 14million Unemployed South African Youth.

At this point in time, corporates should not even be considering employing foreigners for low skilled work but rather reserve those for South Africans. I live in Cape Town so this is a lived experience and not something on paper I read somewhere.
