Thanks for explaining the problem with the black ground wire. Why the manufacturer put that extra grounding loop is bizarre. Unless you want the fan running all the time. I disconnected it and now the fan comes on at the right temperature. Thanks again. Great explanation.

@Jmaddox_14 check live data, watch the temperature rise on the screen, if it gets to 210 and no fans then replace switch or check wiring, ensure the fan actually works when it gets 12 volts. Iv got a bad fan out of the box before.

Just purchased the aluminum radiator with dual fans from alloy works. Did not like the relay kit that came with it. So I went ahead and bought the PAINLESS brand relay kit. Part# 30116. you are 100% correct about not running this on a dual fan setup, i just had my wires melt together thanks to them saying run both my 12" fans off this 1 wire harness they sent and sure enough the wires are not heavy enough to support 2- 80 watt fans it will melt the wires together, did not pop the fuse or the circuit breaker that came with the kit before the wires was on fire.......

If the relay is wired properly, it’s impossible for the fan to turn on without the key. Even if the thermostat switch itself shorts to ground, there would be no power going across the relay without the key on unless you wired pin 85 or 86 straight to battery power, and that’s exactly why I told you NOT to wire it that way in this video. Which I’m assuming you didn’t pay attention to or you would have already known that.

Yes. And white wire still gets hooked to switched power as shon in the video. The Holley will ground out the black wire to activate the relays. Or you can use up two outputs and have the fans come on at different temps, or you could wire one relay to the temp switch and just have the Holley trigger the second fan if needed. There are literally dozens of ways you could do this. The purpose of this video is to show the most simplistic way.

Yes as long as it’s running through a relay. That’s exactly how I ran mine. I already had my Holley ecu triggering the factory fan relay. After determining the factory relay could handle the amp lid of both fans I just left it the way I already had it but split the relay power to both fans.

I am working on a 2000 dodge ram 1500 with a v6 but i dont have any port on the heads nor on the intake so i am installing the switch on the block,do you think it will work like that? Thank you for your answer

As long as it’s in a coolant jacket on the block it should work just fine brother.

Question, I have an alloyworks radiator and fan shroud and the fuse coming off the red power wire keeps blowing when my car gets hot. Checked all the grounds, they are good. Went from 20 amp to 30 amp and still blowing. Idk what is going on

I have the exact same relay and color of wires the only thing is that I have a pigtail on my fan that has a blue and a black wire connected to it. In your video you only have a blue wire coming from the fan, do you know why mine has blue and black and how I should wire those? Thanks.

I have this same kit except mine came with a 30 amp circuit breaker? Which I would assume should go between the relay and battery but there is that inline fuse there already 🤔 so my diagram says to put it between my switched ignition and relay but so many other diagrams have it going to battery, even the breaker says BAT on one side so little confusing. Any thoughts?

Breakers will always go on the battery side. At least that’s where I’ve always used them. My Allow Works kit didn’t come with a breaker so maybe it’s a recent update. 🤷🏼‍♂️

or did you use the islet to hook up another wire and put it inside the car to a toggle switch to have a manual override for the ground for the fan.

The eyelet itself is useless except to ground, but yes you could run a wire to ground through a switch for manual fan control.
