Great build. Can you make an ongoing playlist for this project? It’s nice to watch them back to back as a new one comes out.

..can’t wait for the suspension videos to come ! , really enjoy the insight on why’s and how’s. the design and construction of the “case” was very interesting and a detail that can’t be seen once in place. well done sir.

What a beautiful job you are not a greasy mechanic you’re an artist ! Are you going to smoke test the battery enclosure when it’s all done just to make sure it’s waterproof. ? From a Fellow Canadian from New Brunswick.
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
Thank you sir! smoke test is a good idea. Canada in the house!

Great work! Quality spec. Following with great anticipation. Hoping to learn and apply. Once I can afford it.

As always clean work, curious to see how you will seal the pack and if you have any additional thermal management
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
Thanks! I was going to do a separate video on it but it will be a bottom mounted chill plate, similar to the original VW design.

I am sure you have considered a frame rotisserie to make some of the welding easier on the battery box. Maybe for higher production rates. Counter balancing might be a challenge as you add motors and other heavier parts.

Very well thought out, great job!!

Thanks for showing all the design and also fabrication steps! Do you think that someday you will make the battery box part of the frame?
@519KustomzАй бұрын
It makes more sense to me for it to be a removable part. Kind of future proofing the car as battery tech evolves. I can remake another battery box that fits inside the frame way easier that modifying the whole chassis.

Great build. Can you tell us a little bit about the batteries you chose. And what you think their performance specs will be?

The modules the higher voltage Volkswagen ID.4. 6.8kwh each giving me a total of just over 54kwh. Off the top of my head I don't remember the specs for discharge / charge amps

I wonder if you will use the Original Tesla Subframes like in the Ford Galaxy Project? In the Ferrari Frame Project you were talking about an non Mc pherson front end with the AWD Front motor, so I can't wait to see your next Video on the Corvette Suspension setup. Very Cool Channel, very great Projects, phantastic craftsmanship!

This one is all my suspension design, only using the tesla motors, brakes and wheel bearings. Hopefully have a new video up in the next few weeks. Car building comes first!!

Feverishly waiting for new videos. I enjoy the technical details a lot. I am assuming you are using Tesla motors. What are using for the inverter part? Thanks.
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
Yes Tesla motors. The inverters are still Tesla but a fellow Canadian company, ingenext, provides the inputs to make the inverters work.

Great progress. Your planning really turns out well. I know it is coming but I am curious if you plan to use Tesla suspension parts or custom suspension. Also, is it a convertible Vette?
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
This will be full custom suspension including custom cnc’d uprights. Yes this is a convertible.

Given you are going to be driving 2 motors, what are you anticipating the watts per mile on just normal driving will be? I know a Ford Lightning has been privately tested at about 2.1 miles per kwh, and a Model 3 getting just over twice that. I know you can't have a true answer without testing but I figure you have a target you would like to hit or get close to. My guess is in the 3s somewhere and I'm not basing that one anything but guess that the car will be much lighter than a Model 3 but it has 2 LDU in it. I'm watching so I'm sure we'll all know at some point, I'm just curious if you had any plans on this. Thanks for sharing another cool build.
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
I have not calculated it, but im sure it should be somewhere around the model 3 specs, providing my customer can keep his foot off the accelerator...

Love the battery pack and placement. are you going to put any urethane foam in the airgap? Whats the pack voltage and capacity?
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
I wasn’t planning on it but it’s a good idea! Pack is approx 54kwh and about 360 nominal volts.

What's the plan for cooling the modules ?
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
I was planning another video for the cooling. It is going to be a bottom mounted chill plate, similar to the original VW design

What ever happened with the 2wd chassis you built for the kit car? U still working on that? I haven't seen any updates..
@519Kustomz2 ай бұрын
It is with the customer and I believe getting the body work done. I’ll try to update whenever I see it back and finished.

How is a 1940 Buick Special for a conversion candidate ? A friend of mine is looking into it and wanted me to ask you about the installation, only needs 100-150km range. Saw that you're a dealer from Fuel2Electric
@519KustomzАй бұрын
Yes sir! that sounds very doable. I would have to find out the trackwidth and wheelbase as a good starting point. I try to only take on projects that I can build a whole engineered chassis solution for though. It is a bit more cost wise but I really think you get a way better car in the end.
