He was my cricketing model. I started playing cricket by watching his batting videos. Although he was retired then (1996). Yet i was in love with him once i watched his batting highlights. I got his playing days posters, wore Jones shirt. Tried to run as fast as possible between wickets like him. Ohh God Jones is no more, how can i digest this shocking news. Its unbearable. I love you Deano❤💔. You were and will be my inspiration in cricket/life. You will be missed. Your true fan from 🇵🇰

One of the finest ODI players revolutionized the game that singles and doubles are an integral part of the game. Classy slip fielder!!! An exciting and funny commentator who wanted to cherish the game with some banter. A wonderful coach too having made Afghanistan a team worth consideration. Hard to believe Deano has passed away, remember watching him get 140 at the Gabba, magnificent batting, he could get down the other end in 3.1 sec, he would run 1 1/2 runs while Boony was completing the 1st, Thoughts are with his family.
